Lydia - I know you’re putting the garden beds to “rest” until Spring, but just in case you didn’t know (I’m still learning too!) now is the time to plant any Spring bulbs like tulips, daffodils, Hyacinth or alliums, etc. And now is the time to plant garlic 🧄 🤗! Would just hate for you to miss out if you did want those for next year.

I came to add my comment to those who have mentioned it already - now is definitely the time to plant beautiful spring bulbs! We're planning tulip pots for either side of our front door, white daffodils outside of our kitchen window etc. And I'm also planting up bulb lasagnas to give to relatives as presents, so we can all have blooming spring bulbs together next year! :) x

Your new Defender is the, Bees Knees - so gorgeous! 😍 It was so cute when Lumi jumped in and all four of you were in it - Porter was so excited to see his sister.🥰 It's so great when you leave the comical and down to earth moments in your vlogs, as it shows your fun side - I was literally lol when you said to Ali that your dad would be half an hour in the shower, and he replied, "what, is he shaving his bollocks?" 🤣 🤣 Also, when you were walking Porter with Ali, I don't think you realised the connotation when you said, "One man and his sausage!" 🤣🤣🤣
The heated seats will be a godsend - as they are not the most comfortable ride - but they were not built for comfort tbh. Great for garden centre visits, Daylesford or small antique purchases - but I wouldn’t want to do a long journey in it.

No, the point of greenhouses is to be able to have a controlled environment at any time of year. A majority of greenhouse users choose to not use them in the winter because it is expensive to heat a glass structure.

Love the Defender! My Dad alway had an army green Defender growing up and we used to go to the Lake District every year in it and I have great memories of sitting in the back benches having picnics keeping warm and driving through little streams in it. He still has it to this day in storage and will make a great project for us one day hopefully!

I’m so excited to see the next season of gardening vlogs! It’s such wholesome content and so uplifting. If I can offer some feed back I find your titles are often confusing, I feel like they would be make more sense if they are named in an obvious way. Eg. “New Car and Cleaning up the Greenhouse”. Idk anything about ‘the algorithm’ but as an avid viewer I know I prefer when things are predictable and give an expected outcome, rather than leaving me feeling confused. In saying that I have been really enjoying your content even more lately, your attitude and view on life is glowing 😊 thanks for sharing

Lydia, this is my first comment on your video. I’ve been binge watching your vlogs backwards and I really enjoy them. I love how positive and inspirational you are. My favorite are your hauls, specifically the more affordable ones and your gardening. I’m looking forward to all you future vlogs. As far cooking goes, I think you would be a great cook. You just need to put your mind to it. Just like with gardening. Practice makes perfect! 😊

I think she gets them ironed by someone professionally.
I think she uses a hand held steamer. They are definitely worth the investment and not that expensive.
Probably using hand held steaming or wash it and hang outside after washing using clothes hanger to keep the shape of clothes

'Preparing' for the day ahead is setting a great legacy for the future. You want your content to have longevity.... even your surroundings can benefit from classic taste and influences..... even a Defender'. The Land Rover Defender is a great British off road classic and has never been out of fashion. Besides they hold their value.
Separate from that, choosing the better boat for your day out while holidaying in Ibiza this year was a very very clever calculation.... Another way to add value... Thank you for taking us on holidays, by the way;) Your trip there made me feel really, really good. I never wanted to go to Ibiza until 'your' trip with Charlie & Josie. I was reminded of it when you were talking us through the interior of the Defender..... Thumbs up!
Just a bit about staying warmer Autumn, Winter, Spring when out for a walk. Tights under your leggings or jodhpurs are a great way to boost the insulation factor. If like me you don't like the feel of tights/stockings on your feet and don't have ankle length tights. I just cut across the toe and wear them at the ankle. They are discreetly hidden under your top layer. But I am a convert. Even with the lightest of stockings it is very effective! And it is supportive, smoothing and non bulky.
That is such a great idea! I feel so uncomfortable when I wear them under trousers and proper shoes but I've never thought of cutting the bottom of the tights. It makes sense and it's probably a lot more comfortable.
@@fanni24 It has made such a difference for me Fanni..... Tights around my feet make my feet cold and clammy. A totally different experience to socks. They are an affordable solution too; you are giving worn out tights a new life. You will probably also find that you need slightly less layers up top as they are often high-waisted.

I’ve got a 1958 series one 109 Land Rover that does 40mph max… I’d love to have seats like that 😂 instead got no seat belts and just a bench that gives you a bad back if you’re in it for too long!

This reminder helped me with my dogs: when you said “it’s ok Porter you don’t need to protect me” he doesn’t know the words, he hears the tone..he thinks you’re saying “good job Porter for barking” because your tone is reassuring--not reassuring that there’s no need to worry, but reassuring him that he’s doing the right thing by acting the way he is. So he is going to continue the behavior because you’re praising it ❤️
Yes, very assertive tone needed to show him who is pack leader. Otherwise he is anxious fearful thinking he needs to protect!

I’m sure the greenhouse is naturally ventilated
1. to stop the spiders coming into the green house is to do a mesh on panels that are open. Use mosquito meshes. They can be attached with magnets and a frame.
2. To add a 3m door sealers round open edges on the rims and drop seal of door panel. Basically seal all access ways for the spiders
3. Do a clear out and wash away all spiders and baby mites so they won’t make a family in the greenhouse
And that’s it! You win back your territory

Just a suggestion, you may want to oil your chopping block. Some blocks get dry and crack. Yours is beautiful and would hate to see see that happen. Oiling it will give it a rich dark look.

Try using a small camera tripod, that you can adjust so you can plant, chat and film at the same time. Works for me with my art studio. Loving the new car, Porter looks right at home in it. All your efforts with the garden are so paying off in produce, your happiness and calm. Keep it up it’s inspirational ❤️
