  • This is a comprehensive guide to how I Find a leak in a Heating system its from start to finish. Anyone that works on heating systems this is a must. Often we are faced with the daunting task of How to find in a Large house or property a Leak. This is the best way I have found over 35 years to do it. It has never let me down. It enables you to hone in at least on the zone or area so you can have an Understanding without just Guessing. In this video the floors are concrete and Voids so even with a leak detection Company it would have been useless as the leak will fall to a void thus leaving you still in the dark.

Great video, i personally, after doing the boiler check, would have drained the system and then stuck the compressor on just to try and hear any leaks first. Cracking job though.

Thanks for your input.. prob I find is u can never hear a leak unless it’s so bad u already know where it is ⚠️ Thanks for stopping by , see you on the next one 🙏🙏

Good video! I have a question if you don’t mind. I have a sealed central heating system and the pressure on the combo boiler gauge drops slowly over time. I estimate it to be 0.1 bar per month. 4 bed detached house about 15 medium rads.
Happened last winter also however in summer months with no heating on the pressure held around 1 bar consistently for the 7 months or so.
Most radiators are about 20 years old some with minor rust.
I wonder what the cause of the leak is and if some leak sealant is the way to go ??

It’s not going to be upstairs is it you’d see it coming through the ceiling 😂 also why you’ve cut and put them valves in it’s obvious it’s under concrete somewhere in ground floor if no rads are leaking it’s under the floor if upstairs ceiling hasn’t caved in it’s under the floor 😂

Ive drained a system off before and pumped my gas bottle down into the pipework blanked it, left it 10 mins and went round with my sniffer on a particularly hard to find leak and that worked out
