E36 m3, i really like the deep sound from the car
For me it’s the E92
E92, that high rev V8 has to be one of the best sounding engines BMW has made
S65 4.0 😍
Followed closely by E36 3.2 Evo with Supersprint or Scorpion exhaust!
Just a good oldschool naturally aspirated engine. No fancy nonsense and popcorn bangs, just pure driving pleasure.
If just one manufacturer would make this kind of cars again, they would sell like crazy
@footballcoreano Naturally aspirated sounds better and the power delivery is much more controllable. It is not always just about pure power.

@footballcoreano turbo is boring, with an N/A engine you get a much more linear power and torque delivery and the exhaust noise isnt muffled and there is still an intake noise

After 225,000 km this car can still do 5,5 secs 0-100... What a M-A-C-H-I-NE!!!
I am 25 and i have this sound recorded in my mind since i was 10 that was the first time i had a ride in one of these, my favourite car for sure

I Just had my drivers licence for half a year when i drove the m3 e46 for the first time when it just came out in 2000. Worked at BMW at the time. Picked it up for a customer at BMW Netherlands in Rijswijk. Man what a blast i had. My dream car at the time. Realy loved BMW back then. It where great years. Nowadays i do not feel that excitement for BMW anymore. The newer models do not give me the same feeling that i had back then. Anyway, nice video, it brings back that awesome feeling of that great years with the true 6 inline power.
Yeah who knew that taking something great and making it fatter, automatic, and with less displacement would make it less exciting?
@@guthrie1181 not so much less displacement as much as less revs. The E90 and E46 M3 were so good and amazing because of revs.
@@whatiwant8898 Absolutely. Downsizing created a need for boost which negated the need to rev high and made exhaust notes resemble an Oreck.
Boxer engine is bestt and safer then others engine. Boxer engine is balanced engine for safety and secure under driving :)

I remember the first time I heard one of these at wide-open throttle all the way, way up there to the redline. The howl of that NA inline-6 at 8k RPM is something one never forgets. A true gem of an engine.

I have an alpina b5 biturbo from 2011 with the n63 engine in it. Would it be worth the money to add the eventuri kevlar intake?

E92 was the first step towards lower quality. Interior and leather was cheap cheap in the E92, felt and looked like plastic. The paint looked like it was rolled on the 92, orange peel all over. But the 4.0 V8 was fantastic, too bad they went down hill, and never came back from the E46 M3.
This is the car! You can drive it fast, looks awesome, sounds awesome, is able to daily drive it, reliable and is timeless...
It's a great car sure but 90% of people do not think you are awesome lol they think you are a poor sob driving a shitbucket from the past.

One of my favorite BMW models the E46 M3 love this thing even today and one of the best designed car by BMW this car kept in good condition properly detailed with some good looking wheels is a head turner for me even today I simply love the way this car looks and sounds all that N/A high reving straight 6 and that induction nosie it makes 😍😍😍

The good old days when you could enjoy the engine noise, not these new exhaust noise with crazy pop and bangs
How come when 20 years ago when tuner Hondas were popping most people hated them and called them fart bombs and now people like that garbage sound of farts and backfires . This is one of the best sounding sixes ever , NA and very smooth with a crazy recline.
Watching those videos, I actually remember when driving a car was an analog thing.

Every time I get in my 330ci, I imagine I'm driving an M3... Dream car right there
I raced a 330ci in my 545 mt 6 speed. That thing ran almost equal with me from 100 - 160 wich would be max in 3rd for a 330 i guess. Mine does 180 in third and 240 in 4th so from 160 i started gapping big but i was impressed really

Beast, ordered S54 engine but for sedan swap :D
I think I remember reading that this car was electronically limited to 250km/h....
Which means that, one, it may have been able to go even faster without limiter, and two, reaching 264km/h despite the limiter is quite nice.
Many modern cars nowadays are limited to 250km/h too...... even biturbo sportscars.
Officially they where limited to 250 km/h, but M cars had there limiters set to +10% from factory, so in practice it was 275 km/h. Removing the limiter, you could get it to 300 km/h on the speedo with some luck.

the map 0:29 sensor is loose or broken, at least it gave that impression by the video. this car is wonderful
That's the MAF sensor though, isn't it?! The MSS54 (non HP) doesn't have the MAP sensor.
