This was such a cool place, I'm bummed that it was only half opened. I really have to get back there and really have a good look around! That darned situation got in the way of everything!!!

I remember as a kid, would travel in the car with family down Route 5 in the 1960's, and you wouldn't believe the hustle and bustle of Lackawanna NY back then, fully operational....lots of smoke from the stacks !

@@UnkleHeavy yep, i remember much of WNY, in the 60's like it was yesterday. If you've ever watched any of those older videos about steel mills it was typical, hundreds and hundreds of workers working round the clock, the whole area, houses, buildings was always covered in a light brown soot. Ya know Republic Steel was nearby also, on the inland side of Route 5, before you got to Lackawanna, just after Tift St. as you headed south out of downtown, they had a couple of bessemer converters, you could see the cars of coke/ and whatever else riding up the incline to dump whatever it was in the top....

I am such a fan of your videos. This was cool, sad, fascinating, and depressing at the same time. Another great Vogue.

    Very Cool Video,
I was just out there on 4/17/21 and they just opened up the trestle that day.
It’s really cool and sad at the same time. The amount of history that came out of this plant. And now it just sits.

Thank you so much! I’m going to have to go back and check it out now the trestle is open. I can only imagine how amazing it must have been to see it operate back in the day. Thank you for watching!!!

@@UnkleHeavy, it really is something to experience up close.
I use to Truck past the plant in the 90’s when it was still in operation and sadly passed it years after it closed with weeds growing in parking lots. Before the casino took over.
