Bro it's not like that. Maybe you have not heard about the Special Forces of India such has Para SF, Marcos,Garud,Cobra,NSG and many more.Every branch of defence has got it's own special force unit,who are equipped with badass weapons and Sophistificated gadgets.

@M4A1 Carbine yes bro they don't even have good rifles. They are using insas. And this gun have many problems sometimes they jam and even their magazine is made up of plastic that easily broke if it fell down.Each and every soldier should be equipped with best equipments like waist and pads and helmet and even insas is outdated now. Facing terrorists like insas is almost suicide. It doesn't kill terrorists with one shot. So it's just like a dream to see our troops fully equipped with latest technology. Even my dad is in army and he always tell me about it. That's why I would go for special forces instead of army

Some ghatak operatives use the NATO 5.56mm Tavors as well but most of them prefer the 7.62mm ak(including ak,aks,akms) as their primary weapon .
The RR (whose name speaks volumes about itself) is one of the best and most active CI OPS in the world.

B R new bp helmets are already being used by some units of RR. The process is underway to replace the evergreen 'patkas' with the bulletproof helmets.

No value given to the lives of our soldiers; many (especially from villages) probably treated like bonded laborers/personal servants by senior officers (from upper middle class, etc). The politicians, regardless of party, are the same or WORSE. MOST are too busy taking bribes, ensuring re-election as their MAJOR goal. Maybe a national outcry and movement OR crowd funding to buy the helmets can bring the authorities to shame. Maybe I'm being naive.

I'm worried why night vision devices are not provided to every soldier. It's very necessary that each soldier should be provided with night vision devices and these
should be attached with the helmets just as the US army do. Even in rifles there is no night vision device. Government should focus on it if Indian army is to be made more powerful.

They are not even equipped. What’s the difference between a non state actors and state when they both are using AKs? India cannot be compared with China or any any powerful nations if it is gonna happen in this way. Long way to go for India to even fight Pakistan. Pakistan, which is small as compared to us has successfully defended its nation in almost all the wars, be it 1965,1971 and 1948. It is quite an achievement. Don’t take me wrong guys. I am an Indian.

Knee Pads. Elbow Gaurd. Secondary Weapon. Kevler Vests. Fargs . Protective Gloves(not those cheap ones sold in the market, I mean a ligit protective combat glove). night vision. Proper Helmet(Not the ones used in the 90's) com systems. And Here You Go ,You Have The Perfect Badass Army . But without this Our Army Still Lacks In terms of Combat Gears. and this can drastically change the momentum in combat. Anyways we still have a very good Army. just need some modifications. and not forgetting Customized Assault Rifles Will also do instead of Ak's and INSAS

Stop being ignorant about AK rifles. Even NATO countries like Hungry, Poland, Lithuania, Serbia, Bulgaria etc prefer AK rifles over western assault rifles. Russian will get AK 12 & modernised AK 74M rifles. Finland is also using assault rifle that is based on AK-47. We just need to upgrade our existing AK rifles.
