  • The Supreme Court will soon decide whether the government must let residents carry guns.

    ----
I once tried to get a carry permit in NYC. They didn’t make it easy. They required pages and pages of forms, notarization, records of death threats I'd received, and two trips to police headquarters.
The whole process took 8.5 months.
    The result: DENIED.
But the Supreme Court will now hear a case brought by two other New Yorkers who couldn't get a permit. Alan Gottlieb, of the 2nd Amendment Foundation, is optimistic that the court will rule in favor of gun rights.
Will that mean more guns on the street, and therefore increase crime?
You can find out more in the video above.

In a way, John Stossel is continuing the work of economist Milton Friedman, who, together with his wife, Rose, wrote a book "Free to Choose" and hosted a series of TV programs of the same name, shown on PBS. There is an excellent opportunity for a new group of politicians to adopt concepts expressed in the Stossel series, slash the cost of government and make our country a better place to live.
Government programs always have some goal to improve the social good. The first thing we learn is that making a law prohibiting something doesn't stop people from doing it. This video is on guns but the concept also applies to illegal drugs, covered in a different video. Prohibition didn't stop consumption of alcohol. So, the bad thing still goes on but now it is a crime and we have all the problems caused by criminal activity. Then we have government officials whose livelihood depends on enforcing the laws. If the laws are abolished, they will have to find new jobs. So, they promise to work hard to win the "war on drugs", knowing full well that they would be out of work if they could win, but also knowing that they aren't going to win. The free market is just too powerful and will function even if the activity must be concealed from law enforcement.

Gun education is KEY to preventing accidents. I have always been around guns, and so have my kids. There is no temptation to fool around with them because they have shot every single one of them and know what they do.

Exactly well and get informed about guns and talk to people those that grew up shooting and those that never seen a gun except in movie or on cops hip. The amount of ignorance and misinformation they have is appalling. I grew up in little rural town shooting was the normal. 2-3 trucks with gun rack and a gun or two at school. Our version of ditching to go to mall was ditching and going shooting. Then I moved to California for job and friends there were freaked out.
Topic came up they found out I had guns in gun safe in house. And the shit they believed was appalling like when they found out it was semi auto they thought that mean't I had machine gun and all sorts of stuff. Convinced them to just go to gun range taught them basics. Every single one did 180 on policy/feelings toward guns there was 5 and 3 went from against guns to getting own 2 went from against guns to ok with them.
To them since they were so taboo scary thought guns would just start gunning people down on own. And its as stossel said simply having gun is a deterrent had several of friends never have to fire. But defend themselves not counted in defense statistics like one was brothers wife jogging. Had creeper try to actually grab her was following her then hid in bushes jumped out and had a gun in his face. It was dark and dude ran so fast she had zero information so what is she going to do call cops a person I think a guy in hoodie unknown race and height jumped me. Risk getting shot by cops perhaps have them find fault in defense use charge her with something definitely confiscate gun for a while.
Meanwhile they are excluding not only self defense like this but animals are not included which rural this is much more prevalent especially herd farmers. Of course police or security not included. All sorts of loopholes to under represent it.
Then you look at gun deaths in anti gun states they include fucking soldiers killed overseas. Criminals shot by cops even instances of self defense. Then use that to claim need for more gun control. Yet when questioned about why their state has higher gun crimes they say its other states fault. While glossing over things like some of biggest claims are illegal like most states wont sell to out of state person. The ole gunshow loophole you can find liberal and conservatives "try" to use it and surprise surprise they won't sell without background check. Even see attempted private sellers kicked out as these events are ran by licensed dealers that don't want to lose license. Shit go to regular gun store and you see them at leas 2-3 times a day outright refuse to sell to people giving bad vibe. Background check be damned.
But yeah they will never start shooting class again at schools because it would normalize guns make them a less scary boogeyman. Despite probably lowering gun deaths simply by preventing untrained people encountering firearms at home or friends home. Because while they claim its about lives saved it is ANYTHING BUT lifes that matter to them. In a world where most countrys made it illegal and its "scary thing" to the uninitiated. It serves multiple purposes makes us look bad it attacks portion of political opponents funding. And serves to create unending agenda. Seriously if you piecemeal it like this its easy. Hell look at new york and magazine capacity at first it was 10 round then 7 then pushed for 5 before supreme court rolled it back to 10. Then all other various there will always be things to add to background checks more barriers to get license etc.

The UK banned guns and now they've banned knives and people are throwing acid in other people's faces, or smashing a pint of Guineas and attacking people with the broken glass. "Gun violence" is a term used by those with a politically driven agenda to disarm citizens so only the government has guns.
Most assault occurs using hands, feet, or blunt objects but we seldom hear "hand violence" or "foot violence" or "hammer violence" or "pipe violence". Control how people talk and you control how they think... and that controls how they vote.
Urban crime is much more complicated than guns, or gun control laws. However, it's important to realize that the politicians pushing gun control are the ones whose policies cause the violence, so their policies should be rejected as possible solutions. Their policies cause crime, then they exploit the crime they caused to disarm citizens which increases the crime, so they're able to push more gun control. It's time to emulate political systems that produce less poverty and less crime, and those are the places with no gun control laws.

@WorldFlex the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
Apparently, you don't know the definition of infringed, but don't feel bad, politicians and Supreme Court Justices don't either.
I looked it up for you. Here's the definition.
      1. the action of breaking the terms of a law, agreement, etc.; violation.
      2. act so as to limit or undermine (something); encroach on
Any gun law or regulation is by definition an infringement and a violation of the 2nd amendment (unconstitutional).
The constitution is the law of the land for the whole country (it supercedes any local law or state constitution) and the 2nd amendment has not been amended to allow for the implementation of gun laws and regulations.

    • @MazrimTaim
      @MazrimTaim 3 года назад

There are a lot of benefits to getting a concealed carry, even in constitutional carry states. It's a huge boon to legal defense if you are forced to use a weapon in self-defense. Also, it lets you purchase weapons without doing a full federal check every time, letting you walk out of a store with a weapon. Said store will then only keep records of your purchase for 90 days, letting you own weapons that people won't necessarily know about. If the feds look you up, they'll know you purchased a weapon, but not what. So, no ATF looking for specific things.
