One of the few disappointments I have on my new Tundra. The fob range for remote start is weak. Why the 3 button press instead of having a separate button on the remote? And who at Toyota thought having the truck turn off when you open the door while remote start is activated was a good idea-seems like unnecessary use of the starter and if I activate the remote start it indicates I'm going to drive the truck, no need to shut it down just so I have to restart. I'm guessing Toyota claims it's for security reasons?

Thank you for your feedback! We're a non-opinionated platform so we don't take sides. Though Toyota has updated most of their other vehicles to address your concerns such as the All-New Tacoma and 4Runner. Hopefully Toyota will decide to give the same treatment in a mid-refresh to the Tundra and Sequoia. If they do, we will be the first to show you!

My remote start doesn’t work. It’s not worth a fuck. I can start my Honda Civic from a mile away using the remote start.

Hey! If you're having troubles with your remote start I would stop by the dealer and see if they can take a look at it. Or if you haven't set up the Toyota App yet. Do that and make sure you accept the terms and conditions to get your Service Connect or Safety Connect active. That will activate the computer and your remote start should work.
