Something I liked about Duck Dodgers was how it deviated from putting the beautiful, powerful female on a pedestal. Instead of going with the usual stereotype of making her the object of desire, they played upon 80s male hero glamour trope in such a ridiculous way by having Dodgers seem like the one out of her league, despite it making no rational sense. I also like how they never had Dodgers take *any* amount of interest in her, despite having every reason to besides the fact that she's the enemy. Even in a silly cartoon, it takes a lot of discipline to not unnecessarily tamper with the expectations of your characters' relationships, especially when it comes to an easy potential for romantic tension. It's that sort of dedication toward characterization that made me such a fan of the show. I suppose it wasn't the _greatest_ cartoon, but the writers had a really good idea about who their characters were and how they were supposed to act. I think with a bit more continuity and context, the show could have at least been more interesting, but I suppose the creators knew what they wanted, and simply didn't have an interest in trying to make something more out of such a silly concept.
Tia Carrere did an amazing job with this. First time I remember hearing her sing was the song during the end credits of Aloha Scooby-Doo. Although she did sing “Aloha O’e” in Lilo & Stitch I just found out she was Nani last year

*Let me set the scene:*
Astronauts arrive on mars, push through a bizarre cloud layer and land softly.
They step out, one by one, and begin with a little exploration of the red planet - soon enough, they find what looks to be the entrance to a temple of some sorts. They check the time; the robots are still unpacking, and will continue to do so for some time. They go in.
Inside, they find themselves in a massive atrium (having gone down a wide set of stairs) decorated lavishly in a style both alien and familiar, featuring the war-helm of ares prominently in the centre of the friezes. They stop to marvel at all this, when they are interrupted in their sightseeing by none other than a real, proper martian saying, "Greetings"
They turn, and before them stands the Queen of Mars
