- This video will explain what the heck this thing is.. how it is formed... and why these "sampling distributions" are normalish, even when the population is bimodal
I teach statistics to doctoral students and this is the very best description Ive ever seen of the CLT. Great job!
Thank you!!
You taught me what my UCLA professor couldnt..... in less than 10 minutes! yayayay!
duhhhh!!
Jane Fernandez how does a moron such as yourself get into UCLA?
8 minutes and 29 seconds just helped me out FAR BETTER than the 9 weeks I've been in stats so far this semester. THANK YOU!
Thank God for this man. Genius in not only his academic subject, but in his presentation as well. He's accomplished solo in front of a camera what years worth of instructors I've had in classrooms never could. He's inspired me to genuinely care about the material and it's all thanks to that unrelenting enthusiasm. Wish they could all be this good.
I have had years of statistics and man I wish I had you in those early years...your training methods makes it all so simple; my middle school students love your videos. You are calm in an angry storm.
Ive learned more in two hours than from my teacher throughout the whole semester.. God bless and thank you from Denmark!
Central Limit Theorem: The longer you talk, the more the form of your cap follows a normal distribution.
anhmvanlindert lmao
Watching your vid for more than 8 minutes is a whole lot better than the weeks I've spent in my stat class for this sem. I learned a lot, thanks!
I truly applaud the energy level you display in each and every video of you channel. I have been significantly benefited by your channel. Thank you very much !
Perfect explanation with the enthusiasm and the jokes. Something u won't expect from a statistics teacher. You are the opposite of my teacher. Chapeaux , very helpful . keep it coming please:)
Please please never stop making these videos...your explanations are brilliant and they've completely stuck in my head! You are actually managing to make my revision fun
You are nuts! But having said that this video is one of the very few videos in youtube that explains correctly what the Central Limit Theorem (CTL) really is about. EXCELLENT JOB! Thumb up 225 is mine.
You do a great job of teaching in illustrations, I wish I'd had your class. Great job!
Hi Mr Nystrom, I love your videos. They are intuitive, practical and clear.
Can you please do more statistics videos like poisson,, expected
Value, joint density functions, marginal and conditional densitites,
mgf, cdf, jointly distributed random variables. Thanks
That. That right there. Is how things should be taught. Why are there not teachers like you in our school system?
MrKylev35 cause more ppl would want to go to school which might eventually lead to free education. They don't want that
I got so excited when I saw you had a video on this! Ultimate fave stats RUclipsr!!!
I have a test tomorrow. Didn't really know what my professor was talking about until just now. THANK YOU.
thank you bearded yelling guy, this was actually enlighting
I truly appreciate the way you teach, I have watched these many times, and you are getting me through all the chapters!
Thank you!
Hi! I'm a 16 years old teenager from Iran. You changed my life! You definitely changed my life, Mr. Nystrom. THANKS!
The image you give of the sample means dropping down to form a distribution of their own is such an ingeniously clear way to explain the CLT. Much thanks from me and my class!
I LOVE YOU! Your videos are the BOMB i have learned way more than in a while semsters just with your videos! Thank you from NYC!
Dude your the best, I love the energy and simplified explanations!
Your enthusiasm is contagious!
I appreciate the energy, you keep my attention and hold it. You are the Billy Mays of statistics.
Great lecture and I've watched many over the last few days. For those that do not like it or find it helpful...just keep scrolling until you find what fits you. There is no need to complain about it or even tell anyone if you like it or not. What you find helpful; others may not. Just like clothing. If a beautiful dress does not fit your body type, it don't make the dress any less beautiful.
You are the sole reason why I'm passing Statistics. I can't thank you enough.
This was helpful and actually invigorating. Great teacher: enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and inspiring......thank you! Well done!!
watching this 4 years later, you are my new favorite RUclips person
Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos. And for breaking it down for this older student....!
Loving the enthusiasm! Great video!
You are truly amazing. I watch your videos just for the fun of it. And, on top of that, I learn something new every time.
You are an amazing teacher.... If instructors had just a little of what you have, students from all over would love math and the world would be a better place. I was on the brink of hitting my head against the desk tonight while doing my statistics homework and then I watched this video. You have an amazing gift and I thank you for sharing it with us!
+Susan Evans I completely agree with you. This guy is great and his energy is addictive. Like you I was so ready to just walk away from this but this guy gives me hope!!!
Your energy takes us to the halfway of understanding.... Brilliant and Different teaching style....
Suddenly everything makes sense. Thanks for the video!
You are amazing :) I'm prepping for a data science interview and I'm so happy to come across this. Its crystal clear I love it.
I'll say it again. You're carrying me through one of my master's course. Thanks brother!
Just an amazing teacher!!! I cannot STAND my statistics online class lecture taught by the most annoying, lip-smacking voice of a virtual instructor. Makes me want to cry actually. Mr Nystrom saves the day!
Your enthusiasm is awesome!! I really understand this concept now. Thank you!
Thank you very much! Your style is superb. Your simplification of the subject is great
A rare ability to teach - great stuff. The enthusiasm, delivery and clarity is captivating - reminds me (in a good way) of Dennis Hopper's performance in "Apocalypse Now."
You are a genius, should be proud of your capacity of teaching!!
you nailed it, bro..!! Awesome. Feels good I landed here searching Central Limit Theorem
Thank you! Explained simply without confusing us with statistical jargon
this guy is single handedly saving my grade even 8 years later....... quarantine man
this guy is a LEGEND! can't believe that i would have enjoyed stats so much. You're my hero!!!!!!!!!!
Your video is extremely informational. Thank you, mister!
This guy is really good at explaining statistics! thank you, I was having trouble understanding this!

Thank you so much. You are fricken amazing. Really happy I came accross your video - potentially an exam saver... You should do morrreee!!!
Thank you Mr. Nystrom,
I have found your videos very helpful to follow your logic and aid my comprehension of what i thought was really confusing. Your teaching style superb.
Thank you so much for explaining the difference between Sample and Sampling distribution and thus Central Limit Theorem!
This video is outstanding. the best explanation I've found on the internet. Thank you so much.
man, do you have a HD version, your videos is the best,
I love your style, man. I failed my stats before, I wished my lecturer explained as well as you did

Excellent! Best explanation easily accessible on the internet.
In the preview picture I thought you were a hipster (forgive me!) with that beard and what I thought to be a sailor touque. After watching other videos and still being confused I tried out yours. Man alive! Yours is the BEST. Rather than being some hipster your an energetic bear. Keep up the fantastic work! I'll be consuming every video you have relevant to my stats course.
Super clear & hilarious. The guy's fricking brilliant!
soooo nice. May God bless you and bring us to the right path. :)

Great Video! Keep up the good work buddy!
You are a such a talented educator, it’s crazy. Thank you
Well done mate. It is so difficult to dumb it down so 1st years can understand statistics. you aced it. Thanks from Brisbane.
Again, better statistics explanations than coursera, Khan Academy, edx.
u r awesome... I wish all the teachers would be like u... Thanks for uploading such amazing videos....
This really helped me understand central limit theorem better, I don't know why it's so difficult for me to get my head around!! Thank you :)
This is the best explanation of the Central Limit Theorem I've ever heard! Thanks for this! Why couldn't you be my stats teacher?!
U have a such zest...luv it man... make learning the subject easy!

Excellent video - perfect explanation.
Simple af! Good job!
Amazing! helped me grasp the concepts! +++ MrNystrom is pretty cute!
"KABOOM!" (brain explosion) the lights are in baby! Whoooooo! Thank you. Dude, it pays to be SMART and good lookin'...I"m just sayin'. Anyway, thank you for your break-down! I got it!
simply amazing. Thanks!
THANK YOU!! You made this video so easy to understand! Now I get it!
You are saving my stats grade. Thank you.
I must say Thanks. Was going through various pdfs and presentations but was unable to visualise the C L theorem. As you summarised "its not about the individual x, but the x bars that we are concerned. So, when you take the X bars of a number of samples and plot them in frequency distribution, we get a normal distribution curve ~N(population mean, population standard deviation/sqrt n)" . The whole CLT becomes lucid with this summarization otherwise its easy to get lost in numerous texts where they straightway dive into formulas without giving you an conceptual understanding.
amazing, simply amazing
Thanks for the video; you explained it better than my textbook did.
With all due respect assumed, I will state that I have never viewed an MrNystrom video in its entirety. I have difficulty listening to him, and that difficulty is exacerbated if I actually look at him while attempting to listen to him. This night, however, the hypnotic spell of "distaste" may have been broken by MrNystrom himself. At the 1:44 minutes marking, MrNystrom is heard paraphrasing unnamed Joe Blows: "The central limit theorem says if you take a sample from a bimodal population the distribution of your sample will be normal-ish." And, MrNystrom delivers with style. Busted my guts. I started from my clouded state of lethargy, and laughed aloud. Hopefully, this makes it possible for me to actually tolerate his personality, so that I can benefit from his enthusiastic and helpful lessons. Humbly, I admit that my problem is my problem and is not a problem created by MrNystrom. Thank you for being here and sharing your knowledge and zest.
A lots of energy in this video!!!
Thanks a lot man. that helped a lot. your a great teacher.
Great Teacher, Thanks Mr Nystrom. You should look into teaching stats full time at a university.
no! Then he wouldn't have time to make youtube videos! Come on man, what are you thinking! ?
