This disc has taught me to never judge a book by its cover.
Nice thumbnail :DD
More like never judge a song by the intro
Disc 11 and disc 13.............
Noah Cole Yeah we didn’t judge a book by its cover there, everybody’s listened to 11. Disc 11 is still not a song.
I kinda wish it had turned into something spooky. But thankfully we have disc 13 so we really dont need anything else spooky.
In the game, I made a funeral for my Minecraft dog that died. I decided to play ward as I thought that the whole song was the funeral march. Turns out, I was wrong.
Dog : i gave my life to preotect you and you thank me that way ?
Not bad tho

I love the hidden info that this CD has. I'm 90% sure that everyone playing Minecraft as a kid just thought of Ward as kind of like 11, just thinking it was similar, and never listened past the intro. But behind that *spooky* intro, was one of the best songs in the game.
I listened past the intro as I ended up accidentally leaving it on in creative mode years ago
pretty much yes
Ikr?
Or once it comes up on Spotify for C148... that's when I learned it was a song of realization and potential.
This was probably (and still is) my favorite song in Minecraft when I was a kid. I listened to the whole thing and loved it despite the creepy intro bit
This song went from "Damn, hes gone", to "Im glad he's gone"

When you mess with music discs in creative mode, Ward is always one you just skip when you hear the organ. But in survival mode, when it's your only disc, you end up finding out it's way more than the funeral March.
I actually like the organ part the most.
same here
Wait, THIS is the disc y’all skipped over when messing with discs in creative? The only discs I ever skipped over when doing that were 11 and 13 because they scared the bejeezus outta me

@@elhasgaming It's longer by a bar and a half. I'm currently arranging this on piano.
I've actually always loved this disk, I was like "Let's see what's past 10 seconds" and I ended up finding a gem.
same, i actually liked the beginning, and when i listened for_ward_ it got even better. this is now my favorite disk of the game, not even pigstep beat this for me.
edit: ever since i first listened to this when messing around in creative mode, which was surprisingly only in 2019, this has been my favorite disk.
Yeah i remember in the early days when i put this disk my brother was like this is shit put it out, but when it got past the begining he started liking it too lmao.

You have to wonder, with Funeral March in the beginning, maybe this song represents the journey after death?
I think this song more of that realization that when you die you're able to respawn.
Puffin The Muffin First time I died was to a creeper. Freaked out before I realized I could respawn.
A ward is a room in a hospital, isn’t it?
@@dontquestionit_ ward can also mean protective force or shield. Maybe there is a ward preventing you from dying? Removed in hardcore?
maybe the whole game is a anology for a person who is in a coma and is fighting with death
Fun fact: A lot of people listening to the playlist in order just skipped “Eleven.” If you skipped it, go back and listen to it. It’s completely different from “11.”
Ward puts the fun in funeral
1:52 when the beat drops you know it's time to sneak dance to the beat.

I just imagine going through a tunnel full of moving pistons and other redstone contraptions when I listen to this.
Recently I got this from a creeper and it's the first disc I've obtained without cheats in survival. Reminds me of how much suffering it took to get it.
what qualifies as obtaining a disc legimately? as far as i am concerned if you get it without cheating you are just creatively using the games mechanics and being rewarded for it as mojang intended.
Yeah, I meant without cheats. Perhaps I'll reword my comment to reflect that, you make a good point.

That part is extremely epic
Sounds like a really good dark level theme
What's with the sound at 1:35? It's probably just part of the disc but still kinda creepy
Reminds me a song of Travis called "Sing"
No it's probably some kind of 8-bit version of the chimes
That's a reversed bell
Its a pause, new part comes in, slowed down
I've been playing minecraft for over 8 years, and I've never listened to this music disc fully during almost all of that time. I didn't like the creepy organ part at the beginning so I assumed this was another creepy music disc. A couple weeks ago I finnaly decided to listen to it. After listening to it for the first time fully it is now my favorite music disc. I've missed listening to this master piece for years...
The opening sounds kind of different...
The intro was a Hammond organ
Werede I think he means that it sounded different from the in-game disc. Ridley, I agree.
First part lasted a bit longer in the game

This song is the definition of "when you forget to skip the song you don't like, but it's actually a banger"
1:56 is a true vibe
The groove that starts at 1:01 is the reason I love this disc the best
So true
YESSS
Ward is a very catchy, groovy piece by C418 and works well as a music disc in Minecraft. There is one small difference between the in-game version and the album version of Ward, however; more of the Funeral March organ part plays in the in-game version than in the album version, but that’s basically it. Just wanted to point that out.
The beginning is missing a little
Do you want this removed or not?!
Ice Boy2121 the beginning is supposed to be a quick funeral March but it cuts off the ending part. That’s why people are pointing it out.
It’s because most people don’t listen past it.
Noah C this was the first version C418 put out, then they added the part we all know and love today
Nebula3lem123 see what I said above

This disks beginning gives off a spooky vibe at the beginning, then transitions into 'the mystery bop' as I like to call and then becomes mystical and magical at the end.

It's like a documentary about death, and the life that comes up after it. "Oh, the sickening death. No one wants to look foward through it. But have you waited and seen closer after? Let's sit and watch the passage of time while we explore the deep evolutiong from death to life..."
Sounds at first like a credits theme from a Mario or Megaman NES game...
Everyone keeps talking about the organ being creepy, honestly it’s my favourite part of the song.
Does this song remind anyone about the portal 2 soundtrack or is it just me?
Ward was always my favorite, my friends from back then thought I was weird for liking the funeral march disc and wouldn’t believe there was more past it :P
For so long I never listened to the entirety of this because of the intro. For so long I missed out on the CHONKER of a synth at 2:56!
A bit after the middle of the disk (past the 2:30 mark i think) it starts to sound like lavender town-
Funeral Ma-
*Proceeds to aggressively vibe *
I forgot there is a weird beginning to this masterpiece
The 3 stages of grief
Funeral march
Partying
Aceptance
man i always envisioned this song's intro going with a group of wizards who just summoned some powerful being or found something real interesting by tinkering with spells
It's the opening of "Funeral March" by Chopin
This used to be my least favorite music disc until very recently. It might be one of my favorites now. The song just seems worse than it really is because of the intro.
2:48 this part afterward is so underrated
Sounds like that one Christmas song
after ward
"Video game soundtracks can't be meaningful especially since most of them don't even have lyrics"

At the beginning it sounds like a creepy funeral xD

i made a minecraft club with just this song a mobs on a old tutorial world what a time to be alive
2:47 Straight out from Pokemon Lavender Town
Played this for my parrots once in survival, since I had no other options. I was worried I would upset my parrots with the 'creepy music', but I ended up being pleasantly surprised.
On another note, watching parrots dance to this song has such a good vibe to it. I reccomend playing this for your minecraft parrot friends.
Like so I can come back to this masterpice
I guess the beginning "Ward"s off the people without patience from the beautiful composition.
Wait hold on this sounds familiar, 😮
THIS MUSIC PLAYS AT THE START OF THE MINECRAFT L4D MAP!
I love this song because it just abruptly changes its style from forbidding to calm and peaceful.
I swear 2:47 to near the end has a similar chord progression of the chorus of You Oughta Know by Alanis Morissette. Or it could just be me, love both songs btw
Nice! Always loved ward ;)
When your minecraft friend "dies" and you hosted a funeral
Adoro esta
When I was a kid, this disc scared me, so I decided to change it for a yellow one.
I love the part at the end when the music reboots itself...
It's so...soothing, like it's telling me everything will be alright...to keep exploring and keep playing.
Then it fades, having done its work...
1:33 the bass in this is just perfect!!
Random funeral music
The intro is missing 3 additional chords from what it sounds like in game
Always bothers me
0:03 I think you cut a part of the song
yeah that's because the ost version is different from the in game version
Weirdly, i think that the intro fits with the rest. the tragedy is the intro. The way you're living with it is the rest of the song. Slowly picking life back up but never fully healing.
I don't get why it plays the Funeral march at the start.
Fine, I’ll reinstall Minecraft
A princess discovers her prince gone and must toughen up and go save him. She trains long and hard, but before she leaves, her father confronts her, insisting his men will save the prince or they'll find a new one. She leaves anyway (of course). She defeats the evil monster that took him, and they then ride home together into the sunset.
fake and gay
More like a plumber discovers his princess is gone 8)
No wonder its called ward! It makes me feel like im supposed to be in a psych ward! (I made this joke with little to no information of what a psych ward is)
People say the intro is creepy, but I think its really cool and fits really well
The name “ward” implies a sort of protection, which makes me think that the intro intentionally sounds intimidating/spooky in order to *ward* off impatient/unappreciative listeners from being treated to the rest of the song?
this beggining is kinda cut out from what i heard in minecraft
2:47 - This is like Avatar The Last Airbender soundtrack
fuckk wait and ward switch places
I disliked ward until recently I was watching a ethoslab video and he played the entire disc! I heard the ending bit and I just felt the need to listen to it again
2:56 I love this part
