Alien definitely deserves #1 because it has multiple reveals, facehugger; chestburster, and then xenomorph. Just think if there were one or two more intermediate stages. We would've been constantly on edge wondering what was coming next.
And the first reveal of the chest burster was the first time the actors find out the antagonist of the movie. They also weren't prepared for the chest bursting scene, so their reactions are much more genuine, especially since the effects were so realistic for that time.
@@GarrettPDGA Particularly, as I've heard it, they weren't warned of the level of blood-spray that was going to happen. In particular, Veronica Cartwright (who played Lambert, the Nostromo's navigator) had no clue she was going to get a fountain of gore right in the face as she was leaning in right when the chestburster erupted out, so her raw panic and horror was genuine.

Wow, Jean Jacket is higher than Predator. The first time I watched Predator - when I was around nine - I almost wet myself. I still find the Predator one of the most terrifying movie creatures.
Watched that during a deployment in a darkened CONEX that we had set up with a TV and couches. 5 grown men (myself included) shrieked like little girls at the first glimpse of the crawler when the women were all panicking over their lights.
The part that really pissed me off about the pale man scene is that not only did she ignore the rules of not touching anything, she had this smug smile on her face as she was eating the berries, then shooing off the fairies who were trying to warn and save her just so they could get brutally eaten by the monster.
I wouldn't call it smug? It's clear that Ofelia's _enjoying_ what seems to be the first real treat she's had possibly in a very long time, given the rationing that's going on, and the fact that Captain Vidal doesn't seem like a man who would allow such indulgences. I also felt that it was pretty clear by how she seems so suddenly drawn to the table after completing her task, after initially walking right past it and _in spite of_ the Faun's warning, that there's something probably magical about the food that's tempting her, that it's possibly how the Pale Man gets its child victims to awaken it to feed. Food being cursed or enchanted is a not-uncommon trope in both faerie tales and myths, so it's entirely likely that there's more going on in the scene than just a child being willfully bratty and disobeying directions.
Thank you for not blaming Regan for Beau getting the batteries! Every single other video that’s been done on this channel has blamed her despite her very obviously not being the one to hand Beau the batteries!
What makes the alien reveal so iconic is the fact the actors had no idea it was going to happen as they kept it a secret from them, so we are seeing genuine reactions of fear!
Overlooked and underrated creature feature for sure! The scene where the security guard gets attacked in the toilet cubicle, ironically nearly made me wet myself!
I know the kid didn't deserve to die in a quiet place but he shouldn't have picked up the spaceship! Its frustrating and heartbreaking at the same time.
I actually liked the cgi monster at the end of smile. Im hoping years from now i can rewatch it and get a similar experience as i had theaters. With minor anxiety problems smile recreates worst momenta of disorder for majority of its run time. Expertly crafted. Im hoping the sequal can live up to the high bar. Most won't fully appreciate it for what it is.
Makes me kinda sad that "Mother" from Barbarian gets referred to as a creature/it 😢 Shes a scary antagonist, but shes still a human being who was horribly abused. Not a monster or anything supernatural/scifi. Her design is disturbing though
If there is a sign that says DO NOT EAT you don’t eat anything she ate 3 grapes and it awoke The Pale Man Pans Labryinth is one of the best movies ever
Fun fact, projectors will catch fire if left paused for any significant amount of time because of how intense the heat of the light is. There's nothing supernatural happening there.
I love the acknowledgement that they put thing on here that aren't really fully horror. Usually they just throw action or dramas on these lists and play them off as solid horror.
A quiet place: "Unbeknownst do his siblings"? Are you sure of that? I thought his sister gave him the batteries back after his dad took them out. Or am I remembering it wrong?
Dude, I hated the girl in Pans Labrinth with this scene. She was told what not to do and she did it anyway. Very high tension at the end of the scene, but I honestly didnt give a shit about her fate.
Kudos for the inclusion of the Space Balls xenomorph scene.
Got on the laptop and went back to say the same.
"Oh no...not again!"
Never fails to crack me up!!
Hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my ragtime gaaaaaaaaal
The fact that they got John Hurt to not only do that but make a crack on the same scene in Alien makes it one of the best comedic scenes ever.

In Pan's Labyrinth, the true monster reveal was the character of Vidal.

I keep meaning to watch that again. Been years
The Thing by John Carpenter is one of my favorites EVER!!!!
Along with original The Blob.❤

Man I didn't know Coleen Ballinger and Marilyn Manson had a child together. Much less that child being the main monster in Smile.
Yep...the dancing/singing xenomorph is frakkin awesome!!!!...thanks very much!!!...\m/

I'm so glad to see Relic on this list!!! I loved the movie so much I read the book, and the sequel (which I wish they would also make!!!)
Overlooked and underrated creature feature for sure! The scene where the security guard gets attacked in the toilet cubicle, ironically nearly made me wet myself!
Jeepers Creepers is always getting left out. That was one of the best creature features I’ve ever seen.

the bughul apperance did not scare me it looks like a singer of a goth band
Ash's reveal would be a good bonus on top of the Xenomorph :)
Nice job sneaking in space balls
The relic is so underrated
Yeah, it’s weird how the film is basically forgotten. I discovered it a few years back and am a big fan.
I love that movie. It's one of my guilty pleasures. RIP Tom Sizemore.
I love how the little alien just took off ...lmbo
3:48 Super 8 video tapes? Seriously? The Super 8 format is film, not tape, which is why it was shown with a film projector.
He said cozy twice as if it was funny once, there is no way he is that worried about details 🤦🏻♂️
So fun i have to watch some of these 🖤
Smile is just The Fallen if a kindergarten wrote it
Makes me kinda sad that "Mother" from Barbarian gets referred to as a creature/it 😢

There is a 't' in predaror!
And a ‘d’
Pre-eh-eh
1:40 I was not expecting the ending of Smile, the only thing I liked about the movie was the ending, it had me fooled
I have to ask if people do research before writing the scripts for these videos. Ethan Hawke’s character’s name in Sinister was Ellison, not Elliot.
In one of their videos, they called John Doe’s sin wrong in Seven.
Look, it's the Preda'er!
Preh eh er
But says predatory 🤔
Predator Vs. Robocop
Pret at her 😂
Fun fact, projectors will catch fire if left paused for any significant amount of time because of how intense the heat of the light is. There's nothing supernatural happening there.
Spiders don't have tendrils.
In Pan's Labyrinth, why didn't the girl take away the monster's eyes first?
gonna keep harping about this until it sticks.
IT'S SCARS-GOURD, NOT SCARS-GUARD
The Preheheh
I was enjoying Smile until the ‘monster’ reveal. It looked like it belonged in an old Marilyn Manson video.
Maybe it's just me but I thought the Smile demon was laughably corny.

PRE'E'UR 😂
The book that the movie was adapted from " The Relic" is way better
Nope is such a modern classic!
If by classic you mean piece of shit then I agree
@@jsmith3946 i agree. Peels movies seem to be trending down...Get Out was incredible, then US was decent, and Nope was just meh
Nope is horrible! That's the only time I saw a movie in the theater where practically everyone fell asleep there
It wasn't that long ago one of these lists called Bughuul a terrible villain reveal.

I AM FIRST ONCE AGAIN! Ha!!!
Holy shit I thought that was Pete Davidson for a sec! Sorry, Pete, I was scrolling fast.
It's really a shame that they wrote the main character out of Relic.
🥉
Obviously my opinion is just mine but sinister is a terrible movie
Having read (and greatly enjoyed) the book before seeing the movie, The Relic movie was genuine hot garbage on par with a Uvve Boll film.
A quiet place: "Unbeknownst do his siblings"? Are you sure of that? I thought his sister gave him the batteries back after his dad took them out. Or am I remembering it wrong?
Remembering it wrong. She gave him the rocket but once everyone had started leaving he went and grabbed the batteries when no one was looking.

Yes, the video says as much. But the Pale Man is pretty terrifying nonetheless.
