Remember when And 1 had a show on ESPN where hoopers had to show out at the open court to get invited to the arena game? If they were good enough they got invited to the opposing teams bus where they would play against the And 1 city to city. At the end of the tour, whoever was on the opposing team got a chance to be signed to And 1. Springs, Silk, Professor, and Spyda. Air Up There as well. Straight HOOPERS.

      I agree to an extent but not even half of the NBA are crazy good athletes. Most are just skilled at a specific part/s of the game. Take Jokic for example arguably the best player in the league currently and is no way considered an “athlete” by any means.

      @ParanoiaKeepsMeWake 9 месяцев назад +41

      @@netche10 no most of the NBA are great athletes. Jokic looks unathletic compared to other freak athletes but he himself is still a freak athlete.
      He's almost seven feet tall. He weighs 284 and has proportional strength (so benching at least 315). Jokic may not have elite speed or acceleration, but his endurance is off the charts. Imagine a man his frame running two miles in 16 minutes without breaking stride. And he's much faster than people think, he's constantly moving around the floor.
      Jokic is one of the most athletically gifted people alive. He just doesn't look like it when people like LeBron and Zion exists in the same league.

And those guys played mostly before the NBA transformed itself into the league we see today with point guards over 6’5” and small forwards over 7 feet tall who shoot threes. There used to be a time when short guys could make it in the NBA and even play well, but that rarely happens in the modern NBA! Regardless of how good handles and speed you have.

      He should consider doing offensive coaching for a solid top tier team in college. His youtube, insta and and1 probably pays better tho...

    I feel like absolutely nobody has ever wondered why he isn't in the league. He's basically as good of a passer as White Chocolate was but would never be able to score in the league.
    He'd also never come close to being able to actually use any of his street style handling in the league. The NBA plays about 20X the defense that And1 ever played.
    The NBA plays 0 defense btw.

    He's a great street baller, that's his house, outdoor basketball court, he entertains people with his unique style of play, he plays a different game than the NBA and it appears that he has done well with his game financially

    There is only one reason : who could he DEFEND in NBA ??
    Dude is awesome. I can't do 1% of what he can. I love that he found a way to be more successful than probably 90% of all NBA players ever

    He wouldn't have even been able to make the 2009-10 New Jersey Nets team (they went 12-70).
    With all due respect, you have to be the cream of the crop in basketball just to make the NBA. Against other pro players at much lower levels, he played alright but you have to excel in those lesser leagues just to even see an NBA summer league team, or get a G league tryout.
    A lot of fans underestimate just how hard it is to make the NBA
