@@jacquardproducts just gone some black solarfast to try. Can the black be toned or have other effects added similar to cyanotype? Ie wet techniques with soap bubbles ? Hoping to use it in my mixed media .
@@JanineMKartist SolarFast is quite permanent and chemical resistant, so it cannot be manipulated after completion the way cyanotype can. But we offer it in many different colors, so toing may not be necessary : )
Actually, it's different than discharge printing: discharge ink removes color in the fabric, whereas SolarFast adds color. Discharge works best on dark fabrics, while SolarFast works best on light fabrics. Both help you keep the fabric soft, but while discharge inks remove color with heat, SolarFast adds color with sunlight. Here is a video on discharge printing: ruclips.net/video/CQsPrqsKB24/видео.html Here you can see how SolarFast is used: vimeo.com/channels/solarfast Hopefully these videos will help you differentiate the two processes!
10 watts probably isn't strong enough. The exposure would have to be very long, and the light source would have to be very close to the print to achieve good development of color.
is solarfast wash necessary? it's really hard to get my hands on some here in europe so i was wondering if regular washing products would do
Yes, regular detergents should be effective enough. Just be sure to use HOT water!
@@jacquardproducts thank you!
can you print on silk?
Yes, SolarFast works well on any natural fiber
no multi color prints?

@@jacquardproducts I have other plans for it - paint details on top and possibly some silkscreen layers
Similar as discharge ink ??

Will this work with a 10 Watts UV light indoors as well?

@@jacquardproducts thank you very much!
@@jacquardproducts I have a I’ve light that works well with silk screen exposure. Will it work with this if it does with that?
@@JanineMKartist it should work, but your exposure time will likely be much longer than it is for exposing silk screens...
@@jacquardproducts I’ll experiment
This is so fucking cool!
