@@ThePlantedTankTV that's was my best friend and his three brothers get down for a long time. What's not to like! Great looking tank. Seriously, you make it all look so simple. I experienced my 1st crashing tank. I don't know if it really crashed, but it stressed me & my betta out. I had seed shrimp a few at 1st then to many. So smart me I did a complete tank make over :/ new gravel, new fluval stratum, cleaned my plants & filters really good. New rocks, scaped it pretty nice. Put betta, 3 baby guppies & snail back in. Next day everything crashed. Betta hyperventilating, water was perfectly clear. Did water ck, ph average, ammonia average but the nitrites & nitrates OMG!! You were right about small tanks. This is a 5.5 gallon started with 50%, 30% then 20% water changes each time I add Prime, Stability, a pinch of aqua salt & continued to feed fish. On the 4th day everything was back to normal!!!! Betta breathing normal. I will know better next time. I must have gone thru yours & everybody's videos during all this for help. Beginners Lesson Learned!!
Wow that sucks!. I use Seachem Matrix for my bio media it's great stuff. I always buy the 1 gallon bucket of it on amazon! Smaller tanks can get out of wack really fast. I feel for your betta. My poor Rudolph pasted away recently. It sucks losing a betta. Don't plan on ever getting another one. Unless I dedicate a whole tank to one with no flow at all and black water. Thank you so much for watching! ✌🙂
@@ThePlantedTankTV So sorry about Rudolph. I really don't know how my betta Blue hung in there but he did. I built him a betta bungalow out of silk leaves near the surface he's an old one so he doesn't swim much. He's usually hanging out with the snail in the bungalow. Hope one day you meet up with your betta buddy. Thanks for all your videos & suggestions.

Good to have you back. Missed your videos and thanks for sharing. It's a beautiful tank. 😍 There is always smth to learn, that's why I like your videos.👌👌😊
Job well done. It seems that anything that breaks routine will have the algae there. It could be water change, CO2 or Ferts. Keeping to a routine is important.
Hi ! I now keep nerite snails and shrimps, plus the floating plant..water lettuce in all my planted nano tanks....never had any algae problems since....give it a try...Kind Regards Les
I'm not a fan of water lettuce and I can't use floating plants in this tank because it has a skimmer built in. But I do have some nerites I can toss in.
Nice video brother thanks 🙏🏻 I have one cuestion, I’m new in all this hobby, I just bought my nano 10 and I wanna know if the water u use is tap water or has to be drinkable water, thanks!
Could you insert an inline CO2 diffuser in the pump compartment, between the pump and the outflow? Actually, I was thinking of trying it on a 20 cube, as there might be more room. This sounds like it would be a neat, clean way to diffuse with a paintball tank and regulator. Your thoughts?
@@ThePlantedTankTV agree but I enjoys some hair algae. I also understand that not all tanks can "rock it" because the line is so thin from looking natural and beautiful to looking abandoned and uncared.
Hi Jay great video. How do you keep that Ludwigia Red so red? Mine is turning shades of green. Do you dose iron? I took care of that algae problem making the 90% water changes and changing out my light using the Kessil.
I dose NilocG Thrive All In One Fertilizer once a day in this tank. ( 1ml ) Higher light will help for sure! I'm running my 15 watt fluval nano 3.0 light on 60% with good co2. I love Kessils! ✌🙂
Yay, new video ! I like seeing other people doing maintenance, especially trimming ! Can you tell me how to know if a plant eat most nutrients by the root or more by the leaves ? Is there a way to know ? I mean except the plants that are on a support and not in the ground so they of course eat by their leaves (like anubias) I think ? Also I think nobody asked, why do you change 90% ? :o seems a lot, is it for algae or u always do that ? I have filamentous algae (idk how it's named in english sorry) for weeks and idk what to do.. I reduced 3 weeks ago the % of the light cause I have way too much lumens (5800) for only 17 gallons. but it changes anything
For this tank it hold a little over a gallon in the sump filter area so I'm really only doing about a 60% water change. But I always recommend to change as much water as you feel comfortable with. Fish in the wild get a 100% water change every second so it defiantly doesn't hurt! Usually if the plant itself has roots then it will feed there the most. Any plant the needs to be actually planted in the substrate is a heavy root feeder with the exception of stem plants. Hope this helps!✌🙂
@@ThePlantedTankTV Thanks, and is there enough nutrients in aquasoil ? I have the tropica one. It's new (soon 3 months) planted, but I feel like some nutrients are missing, even if I have this soil and fertilizer.. some holes in my plants (potassium defiency I guess) and my red plants are more like... brown lol this isn't nice
I have a WB 10 gallon as well and it seems as which ever setting the return pump is on it still is to fast and the water in the chamber gets very very low. Any idea on a way to fix this?
Sorry this is super late. I think it is a decent price for the quality. I haven't personally seen anything better for what it is. If your don't like messing around with filters and heater being in the tank or looking ugly this is a great option.
Well the aquasoil will always help make your water a little softer and I've heard it does great in low light also. Not sure how true that is but I'm using medium light and good co2 levels so I'm sure that helps me a lot. I think it is easier than Ludwigia repens for sure if that says anything. Thank you! ✌🙂
