Crazy how people come up with the same ideas, I made one of these over a month ago now as I kept seeing the contour gauges and there isn't a magic wand needle selector for the lk150 that I could find. I wanted to be able to select the exact needles I needed on different rows. It was a little annoying, fiddling to get a perfect selection but once I had it perfect the tool did makr knitting snowflakes over Christmas much easier.
I don’t know what it is! I found it in my stash; I have no idea where it came from or what it is. The colors are nice but it’s kind of rough to the touch.
The needle bed is about 43 inches by 4 inches. The whole machine in the box including tools and weights is 10 lbs but the machine itself is not that heavy- probably about five pounds.
@@AnnaHaferman that's a shame. I bought a pound of straight hairpins from Amazon the other day and think I'm going to go back to Lowes to pick up a couple of paint stir sticks to attach the hairpins. I won't have an adjustable tool but with a pound of pins, it's possible to make enough transfer tools and needle selectors to accomplish any and every pattern combo, I think.
You could even make a set of jigs for certain needle selections. So, if you were doing a pattern that did 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 as in the video for the first row, then 0 1 0 1 0 1 0 1 0 and then 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 for a sort of diamond design, you could build your jigs in those three configurations and use them to set the tool, rather than using the needles.
Great improvised tool and a fabulous mock rib. Thank you so much for the tutorial - must try that rib out now.
Oh, Anna, this is fantastic! Thank you for working this out and sharing with us.

Thank you! You're a genius. I am getting one (or two) of those :)
Hello! What a genius idea! What yarn did you use it’s so pretty?

I love your cup,

Nifty idea!
Thanks!
Brilliant!
Thanks so much!
I like your videos. I can learn a lot. Could you please tell me the dimensions of your machine? Thanks a lot

Ok thanks a lot for your answer
Btw, I saw a contour gauge at Lowes that have ultra thin steel leaves. That might make a better tool for needle selection.
I thought so also but I tried one and it doesn't work as well. Thanks for watching!

Do you have the size
On the tool ?
No, sorry, I don't. I put a link in the description; maybe the size is listed there.

The Needle Beetle does this with only 8 needles and copies it to all the other needles.
Yes; I have several videos using the Needle Beetle. Check them out if you like!
