Glad you're enjoying the northern part of Pakistan. Its completely safe but for peace of mind, the police escort is mandatory. The international media watches Pakistan like hawks, waiting for us to slip up or for something bad to happen so they can absolutely crucify Pakistans image. That's why the Pakistani leadership is over protective of tourists, even when it's not necessary.

There have been other RUclipsrs WITHOUT any police escorts. Having a police escort does not necessarily mean it's an unsafe place. If it really was that unsafe then they would not even be allowed in the first place.

The region is as safe as it can get but the govt do not want to take any risk even if it's one in a million for the simple reason of not going back to square one when the region was deemed unsafe for tourists. Hi Harry !! amazing vlog, YAK is a long haired cow like animal found in Himalayan mountains only. The dumplings were stuffed with Yak meat. Yak meat is close to beef but it is very warm.

The animals are being taken to warmer valleys to find greener pastures and its called 'Transhumance ' they will be back when the advent of summers.Pretty usual in our northern areas.Enjoy Hunza and must visit is the Yak grill Dowdo soup and chapshru at the Altit or Baltit Fort cafes owned by ladies.
Actually your tour Guide took you through route that is used in winters , its not a good road and has these check posts. The summer route has fabulous road, only one check point and no police escorts. This one which you guys took is the old route but still used in winters as no snow. The other is closed in winters

Guys "Yak" is an animal on the mountains. It is caught from the mountains, as they cannot be raised in captivity or farmed. It resembles the American Bison to an extent if you want to draw comparisons. The Yak only eats herbs and not the grass or just any plant, and these herbs make it simply the most delicious and also the most healthy organic meat on the planet.
Your vlogs are realistic about the actual conditions the tourists could face in Pakistan. Ofcourse tourism infrastructure is not much developed yet in Pakistan but it is picking up some pace due to local(95%) and foreign (5%) tourism. Loving your vlogs
The food you had at the end (dumplings and pilaf) are something also common with Central Asian countries like Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The dumplings (these look like Manti) would be eaten only together with sour cream and the pilaf (also with mutton) would have carrots and raisins. I hope your travels will take you there sometime. Uzbekistan is on my list, but I have been to Kazakhstan 4 x (I also speak Russian) and it's really an amazing place with super friendly people. Keep up the great vlogs.

Hi Harry, welcome to the Hunza Valley. Nice to know that you guys had a safe and enjoyable journey from Swat to Hunza. May I know which hotel you checked in at the end of this vlog? Is it in Karimabad or some other town near by? Did the hotel staff tell you guys anything about the hot water timings. I believe that most of the hotels in that area only have running hot water for about 2 or 3 hours a day. Mind telling me what are the room rates? Kind regards.

Stop by for a meal and ask for Laal Shazadi, which literally translates to 'red princess'. No kidding, that's her name. She was the first female in Hunza to start her own business. Since then she has become some sort of a youtube celebrity. You can do a whole vlog on her. She was even visited by Mark Wiens in Dec 2018, a youtuber with over 8.3 million subscribers.

I fink it's such a unique country,It is not your run-of-the-mill one dimensional monotonous type of scenery,I mean from mountains to rivers,plain lands to farms,forests to deserts you name it Pakistan have it all.
Infrastructure needs a full swoop overhaul but must say this country is so diverse.Harry please let me know in one-liner your true thought about Pakistan thus far,I need your one-liner from your heart on what you feel about Pakistan?

Hi Harry, welcome to the Hunza Valley. Nice to know that you guys had a safe and enjoyable journey from Swat to Hunza. May I know which hotel you checked in at the end of this vlog? Is it in Karimabad or some other town near by? Did the hotel staff tell you guys anything about the hot water timings. I believe that most of the hotels in that area only have running hot water for about 2 or 3 hours a day. Mind telling me what are the room rates? Kind regards.

@@harryjaggardtravel thanks for the prompt reply. May I suggest for you to visit Hunza Food Pavilion. Its only about a 100 yards from your hotel. Stop by for a meal and ask for Laal Shazadi, which literally translates to 'red princess'. No kidding, that's her name. She was the first female in Hunza to start her own business. Since then she has become some sort of a youtube celebrity. You can do a whole vlog on her. She was even visited by Mark Wiens in Dec 2018, a youtuber with over 8.3 million subscribers.

Hi guys I hope your loving the views of hunza do go for the white glacier track it's a small track with breathtaking views and do eat at hunza food pavilion that women makes one of the best soups in hunza and as you mentioned you love dumplings right next to hunza food pavilion there a guy who makes some amazing dumplings both of these places where my go to for food in hunza
