I admire your patience and level of detail, down there in the old man's shed. I dare say you deserve a nice cup of black tea with a slice of lemon, and a slice of home made rich fruit cake, for all your hard work.
Thanks, Peter, for lighting the way about the assorted options to add train tail lamps to the rolling stock. Interestingly. I received my Accurascale HYA Fastline Freight packs 1-3 this morning and I was also notified that my DRS HYA pack is on its way too from RoS. These wagons are beautiful items, and one pack contains the Flashing Train Tail Lamp, switches on and off with a wand. Thought compared to the JTA pack that came with a battery included, the HYA did not, which would have been great if a battery were included in the box. So then one would be able to use the HYA wagon with a Flashing Lamp straight away, and then to cast ones first magic spell over the lamp with the wand, to make it go on or off during its first time use and test on the rails.
Hi John yes got my HYA wagons now too. As you say no batteries and none to be found in the shops round here so on to evil bay. I have changed to Hunts couplings and olled the wheel sets as 10 wagons is a bit of a hefty pull. For sure any more and you need an all wheel drive loco. Cheers Peter
@@torridonroadbypeterdixon4162 I tried a few shops this afternoon for the LR41 batteries and like you no one had them in. I may end up adding wiper pickups at some stage to the PCB bat terminals after removing the bat holders. I think there will be room too to add a small Stay Alive cap in the end too. If one removed the weight cylinder a bigger cap can be installed.
Ahem! "Cow bloimey gov" best saarf laaandan accent there Mr Dixon ;) Now. Love the flashing lamp idea, keep thinking about doing it to my one and only brake van!😊 Cheers mate 👍
Cor luv a duck, can't believe me mince pies reading proper English from yer LoL. Theres many a brake van out there thats had a lamp fitted, hope it goes well for you. All the best Peter
Hi Peter (down in the man shed)it's been fantastic weather up here in the Peak District also mate, nice video explaining the different pick ups etc. I'm slowly adding tail lamps to my stock but I am going down the battery route fitted with a motion sensor and they work quite well for me. Some great trains running the 2 TPE 68s look great together. Atb Andy
Hi Andy, love the Peeks had a good few holidays up there based around Matlock and Cromford with trips to Bakewell, Buxton. Fantastic roads for cars and bikes. For sure battery is a lot easier really so now with the wand and that. All the best Peter
Peter, superb as usual from "the old man shed". I love the intros and I always look forward to your updates and latest trials an tribulations. Keep it coming as it's both entertaining and enlightening. Your recent experiences with Bachmann motors failing in class 37s helped me establish the problem with one of my new locos; and yes, it was another 2 dodgy motors! I sent it back and the replacement was faulty too! In the end I bought a replacement motor direct from Bachmann hoping it was from a different batch. It worked so fingers cross it will last! I'm just starting my own RUclips model railway channel so you might like to take a look and keep an eye on how it evolves. It's very early days for both my layout and especially the channel. We have something in common though, it's operating from my "man shed" too! All the best, Julian
enjoyable video peter from you as always. little details really bring your layout to life and the bachmann nuclear flask carrier must have taken some skill to get the lamp in. not sure i want to take my ones to pieces. leon
Thanks Leon, yes looked at it many a time thinking it could not be done. Then saw I could mount the pick ups on topside of bogie and it would still clear things so went ahead with it :) Cheers Peter
Peter is there are lamps left at your supplier, here’s flashing at you (lol) enjoyed this video thanks for sharing I’m using battery supply units because I’m still DC but at the moment only on my coach stock, are the tail lamps always fitted to the left side, please advise regards Barry 👍
Hi Barry and thanks. You will see mouldings on the back of coaches on both sides and indeed I have seen them fitted on either side. Left side might be favoured because you get to it from a platform edge. Cheers Peter
Let there be (flashing)light. Good grief. Here is a link to our local flask you may like - I did not realise is was so long ago! ruclips.net/video/VTeybju9msQ/видео.html
Thanks for the "light" hearted video Peter. Always a pleasure to watch.
Cheers Andrew :)

Hello Bruv. Good to see your new video.
in North America they are oftentimes referred to as F>R>E>D> flashing rear end device
I like that Steven, going to try that out on my mate Noel :) Cheers Peter
Flashing your rear end is not recommended.🙂
