I base my technique with a prop bait off of conditions, time of day, and water clarity plus some other variables.

Thanks for the tips, I just landed my first topwater w the
WP. It also seems to do really well around trees and structure.

Awesome tips, thanks for this video! Btw what time of day do you recommend for ploppers?

Thanks for watching! I fish ploppers all day long but if you are looking to get the best bang for your buck, I would fish low light conditions like early morning, late afternoon or overcast days. If you want to find fish during hot sunny days look for shade.

great tips that I know will help me. Question , how do you prefer to rig it?

A lot of the waters I fish have big toothy predators so I run a heavier setup than most. Typically, I run 40lb braid with a 50lb/18" fluorocarbon leader. I often use swivel snaps and a taru barrel swivel connecting my braid and fluorocarbon leader. Thanks for watching!

My choppo tip seems best when fished from the bank but I'll start out with a fast retrieve but very gradually slow my retrieve down, this seems to provoke a following fish into biting right at the bank

Good call out- I think you are definitely on to something! I didn’t mention it in the video because I wasn’t specifically talking about choppos but I really like how loud the choppos can be even at a super slow retrieve. Thanks for watching!
