A few of us at FMC technologies built a really trick 5-axis post for the G+L 5-axis horizontal machining centre. We went after build times to be built into the programs and built a Just in time scheduling system around that effort. We were able to schedule tool delivery for the the next stage to the machining centres within minutes of the job being complete. That freed the tools up for the next process that needed them and kept the process moving through the shop. We saw really big improvements. Luv and Peace.
