    I grabed my Meinl arsenal and recorded it. Since I've a lot of questions about the crashes that I use and how balanced they are, here you can check them out how they sound on a very simple and trueish mix. What you hear is exactly what you get!
    1º - Byzance 18" Dual crash;
    2º - Byzance 18" Traditional Extra Thin Hammered crash;
    3º - Byzance 18" Traditional Medium Thin crash;
    4º - Classics Custom 19" Dark crash;
    5º - Byzance 20" Extra Dry Thin crash;
    6º - Byzance 20" Vintage crash;
    7º - Classics Custom 16" trash crash;
    8º - Byzance 18" Vintage trash crash;
    9º - Stack made of 7º and 8º;
    10º - Stack with Ching Ring;
    Feel free to ask if you have any questions! I will gladly give you a hand!

    1, 2, and 3 are my favorite crash cymbals ever honestly, along with a 18 inch byzance traditional and brilliant thin crashes. But the medium thin traditional is my workhorse crash. The dual crash is prolly my favorite sounding crash ever but just doesn’t cut through in the band I’m in and sounds more like a big splash when you hear back the performance live but overall sound and tone the 18 dual crash is my favorite and use it for practice and the studio.

    Hey man, nice shootout. I was a zildjian fan but after hearing some nice meinl cymbals I also became a meinl fan... yesterday I bought my first meinl .... byzance 18 inch thin crash... I like the 2 traditional 18 crashes you showed. 3 is my favorite.

    Currently thinking of trying to make a nice set of byzance's after I fell in love with a 16" trad thin. Was thinking of:
    14" sand hat or 15" extra dry
    18" medium thin sand crash
    16" thin trad crash
    And then from there I don't know what to pick yet for another crash or a ride yet. I don't want to lose too much sustain, so I was thinking a brilliant or another traditional? And ride-wise I'm still way off. I kinda like the transitional ride but want more bell.

    • @biodigitaljazz1
      @biodigitaljazz1 3 года назад +2

      Crashing on a ride will give you a lot of sustain.
      But I see your comment is two years old.

      @@biodigitaljazz1 ended up doing the 14" sand hi hats, 16" thin trad crash, 16" dark crash, 18" med-thin sand. transition ride. Loving them.

      @PedroPepePardal  4 года назад +3

      Difficult choice... I love them all! But I tend to prefer thinner cymbals/lower pitches so I mainly use the Meinl Dual crash and the Meinl Traditional Extra Thin Hammered crash, as for 18's.

    I noticed the hammered crash was lower in pitch than the dual crash, is this true in person? Because I was thinking of having an 18” dual crash on my left and a 18” hammered on my right

      Pedro Pardal that was my initial setup idea too do they compliment each other well? And the hammered is darker than the dual right? But thank you!

    I really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but they just got worse as you went through them. The last 6 were all trash can lids. I had to listen to my 18" Paiste full and power crashes after I listened to this to remind myself of the beautiful tone and volume crashes should make. You should really consider switching.

    • @PedroPepePardal
      @PedroPepePardal  6 лет назад +14

      I think you need to consider that what you like, doesn't have to be the standard of what everybody needs to like. These are tools that serve a form of expression. They are mine. They doesn't have to be everybody's and that's ok.
      The purpose of the video was to show the diversity of sound that can be chosen from and it's just my set. There's many more to choose from.
      And I won't switch to something that I don't like. That just won't make any sense!
