    I understand the paying jobs bit. I suggest setting up your current camera in the corner or buying one that will do time lapse and kicking the camera on when you start working on any paying gigs. That way you can still generate content and work a money making gig without spending a lot of time setting up the camera for close-up shots. At the beginning and end you could do a quick walk around of what you plan to do and what you did for the day on the project. Just an idea for additional content I think people would like.
    Two birds with one Urch.

  • @justinwright54

    Just stick with it man!! Record your side jobs regardless if its car related and just give fab tips along the way!!

      @allofusmoreofus2281 5 лет назад +5

      Definitely. It's all good content. Matt if you have links to a local college a film studies student might need the work experience. They could record your side jobs?? I know there's H&S issues but it might be something to consider.

    • @Ranger2000
      @Ranger2000 5 лет назад +2

      yarkie1 Just what I was thinking, some of the weld "repairs" you see on these tv show "restorations" and "chops" make me cringe! Then a ton of filler to restore the original shape! The Mongrel build would make a great series for petrol heads, showing how it should and can be done without a fortune spent on equipment / workshop etc, and maybe inspire other enthusiasts to "have a go", but more importantly to do the job properly.

  • @kingdiabertus
    @kingdiabertus 5 лет назад

    Remember people don't just watch you for the things you make in your workshop, a lot of the time people watch for the personality you have so keep your chin up and keep doing what you're doing 👍

    Matt your channel is genuine, not clickbait or instant fame. Growing your channel organically with the content you do will keep it relevant that can be referenced for years to come. Keep battling, squeeze in a few paying jobs. You will be working many hours for the next 6-12 months, but this is the foundation and the rewards will come. Add in more ads, viewers need to share, comment and buy merch etc

  • @WickedMachineWorks

    To increase viewers try hook up with other youtubers. Being seen by their viewers will increase your subs. So get other youtubers to come into your shop, fix something for them, or go to them and hang out. Trust me it works!

    Listening to you talk about YouTubing full time but not quite having enough income to do it and being pissed of at being in the stuck in limbo position is like listening to my own thoughts . My business makes me a predictable income yet I’m bored now and as you say RUclips has potential .. I love your channel ! If you fancy some sort of colab let me know . Keep setting goals and telling us what they are. It's good to see how the build plan is played out. From idea, to goal, to work performed, to goal met or not met. With updates as tangential issues arise. That's something I think would help set you apart. Most content is too unstructured. People want to understand the complexities of the situation and they want your vested outlook.
    This is why I loved message boards and spent a ton of time making build threads back in the day. It was never about making money. It was about sharing the journey and creating accountability. My level of proficiency and quality of craftsmanship both saw major improvements when I started making build threads. I can only imagine this channel being the same type of incentivesing tool for you. I say focus on that aspect when laying out your work.
    You're doing awesome and I can honestly say the content you produce is fantastic.
    Thanks for taking the time.
