cant understand how this can be so quick, with so much tiresqueel under braking and acceleration. Seems I was beating myself up, with the whole Trailbraking charade, as I can just stomp it almost in any corner.
Hey. You mean you can't drive faster than 2:23 at the moment? If this is the case, I recommend to stay away from custom setups. Because they will only prevent you from learning properly the car, the track and develop your preferences in terms of driving style. In my opinion you should stick with the default setup and understand these things first. This video may be helpful for racing lines and braking points but don't use this setup until you break the 2:19 limit.
@@florent93 Hey, thanks so much for the tip! I was playing with the stock car and I was recommended to watch this video, I am in the beginning and I have a little difficulty with this same setup. Thanks a lot for the help !
Would you change the Setup for a wheel? Did really like it and advanced from a 17.7 to a 16.8 with it today. But keep wondering if some changes for the different input devices could even improve it.
Glad it helped, and this is a really nice question! I think there would be some differences, but I don't have enough experience with a wheel to make some direct comparisons. When I tried the motion rig of a friend of mine, what felt really different was oversteer under accelerations and car's stability over kerbs/bumps (and also how bad I was at judging the limit, well under it in every turn, but let's skip this one hahaha). With a wheel the rear-end felt easier to control and the car more "planted" overall, but many months have passed and comparing ~1 hour on a wheel with 600+ on a controller isn't that representative.
Thank you for the fast reply. Yeah I saw you in many corner's braking in a really straight line, so your rear doesn't get loose. When comparing my braking to yours, I saw you are braking much harder and shorter then me in the small braking zones between corner's. The rear stability needed to drive it fast with a controller, probably makes the car really driveable for wheel users like me. So keep it on, very much appreciated. Are you doing setups for ACC aswell? Many console players will change to it next month. :)
@@florent93 i don't get it.... Your tires don't like your are locking under breaking every time yet, the car still slows down as if there is no lock at all..... I'm able to do 2.17 with the Corvette but, comparing your video with my lap on the z4...does not make sense, I'm finding really hard to see where you are being 3 seconds faster :( HELP! :)
Got a race on Imola this sunday, pretty happy that I found your setup for the last round of this league last sunday. Now I'm wondering wich of your setups would fit Imola the best (I'm fixed to this car this season). The Spa Setup felt alrigth, I dropped the rear wing down and it handles the track well. But it won't handle the curbs any good, and you need to take them quiet agressive at Imola. Now I'm using giggidiy_oh's setup, it feels completeley different, much softer and calmer, but the times are allright, got a 1:43:4 with it and there was still a huge mistake out of the hairpin in it. So wich of yours should I try, or what should I change on this setup, that it handles the curbes better.
I definitely wouldn't recommend the Spa setup. For Imola it would require a lot of tweaks: increase the ride height, soften the front suspension, lower front rebound value, lower both anti-roll bar values (especially the rear one should be way lower) reduce Diff.Power to something like 10-20%. Then it would be better than it is around Imola, but probably still not good enough. You race tomorrow?
Hopefully it's not too late, but give a go at these two setups in case you have time. They're far from being good, but I was able to do some 42.8/42.9 with them with 30L of fuel and at 28°C track temp: 1) this one is faster but has some understeer on turn exit -> pastebin.com/Jju6JZtm 2) this one is just default with some adjustments -> pastebin.com/vFjEs8JL
@@florent93 Thank you very much, really aprecciate it! I'll have some extra trainig time with those setups, as the race got postponed. The Xbox servers have been down now for more then a day, so no race was possible.
@@florent93 Just had to give them a try today, only tested the first one so far. Started in the mid 44s, got down to high 43s pretty quickly, after 20 laps I had beaten my old time 3 times, but only by a small margin. Struggled really much in the fast left hander over the hill, either understeering wide mid turn or loosing the rear when trying to turn on the brakes to compensate that. Even after over 40 laps now I keep struggeling there. In the end I got many times in the low 43s, and three 42,9s and even one 42:820 with a big mistake in the last corner loosing a tenth down the straight. With this setup now, I can drive this car so extremley hard (I know that's not the fastest way) without upsetting it's balance to much and catch slides like nothing. Conditions: 22° optimal 15l fuel. For the race the conditions will be like in reality that day at 2pm. Tire and fuel usage set to 170% 35 laps. (1 stop softs to softs and survive the later laps of the stint)
