- This is a clip from my edit of Muriel Anderson's All Star Guitar Night 2011 my class shot, Bob Gordon's Live Event Production class at MTSU in July. Each student edited the complete show. All editing you see is mine, I did not use the linecut whatsoever. There were some technical issues, so for this one only three cameras exist, hence the limited angles.
The kid on the left is Sol Philcox-Littlefield, if anyone is curious. Had a hard time finding him on the internet.
Boy,James Burton can still play great.Imagine that he was with Elvis Presley for many years. The man's a legend.
With Ricky Nelson and Frank Sinatra as well.
for those who when seeing 2, 3 or 4 players inmediately think who is best .they are missing the entire point..music is a celebration not a competition..just relax and enjoy these friends playing beautiful music in beautiful guitars.
God forbid having and discussing an opinion on which you you prefer.
Wow, Telecaster overload! This is great. I love how James Burton always looks like he really enjoys playing.
He is soooo smooth.
Sad... looking at comments and no one is talking about the Bass Player grooving his little heart out...
Ok, ok. Ive read past comments and this is the jest of it all. Brent session guitarist, musician, and amazing talent. James amazing talent and played with Elvis. Seymore kicked ass in the sixties, manufacturers kickass pickups. Sol, young talent that held his ground. Now see my previous comment. Have a great day !!!
Wow! this was a great show and such great unique playing from each player. Jame's originally played this with with Merle Haggard (Working Man Blues). Brent's brother Randy played drums and Brent is so good. I love seeing Seymour and the guy's play and have a great time. Thanks guys. Bron
James Burton … One Tasteful Guitar Player right there
U R right mate, just mesmerized by this beautiful music by these greats
James Burton Is Beyond A Legend
This is what heaven will be like
Yup, there's Brent, then there's the rest of us.
Brilliant playing and lovely guys. Sure miss you Zoe xx
Give it up for the bass man at 6:44. A bass player seldom gets any praise. That's some awesome picking guys, man I tell you what. Love that song, didn't know Brent Mason sings too. He did a fabulous job. This song is all me brother.
The bass player was Don Williams bass player from back in the day. That guy is unbelievably good!
That's Dave Pomeroy on the bass
I love this video more than I love myself. I have the James Burton red flame Tele, but somehow mine just don't sound like that.
Hats off to all 4 of the Gents..nice style from each of the guitarist.
holy crapolla..what a bunch of great pickers.
Turn the young kid up! He deserves it!
they are all great!
Young man on the left can play too! Great musicians here!
you have forgotten to name the young super talent Sol Philcox
Oh wow!! That's the kid I read about who left his home in England for Nashville because Brent helped him get a visa!
great memories!
This is legend!!!
Cool, I have not seen this... I was production manager for the AV crew at this show.
oh me too...lol I'd love to give it a try though. To share a stage with that group would be amazing!
Brent , Vince , Tim Pierce as good as it gets . Burton’s great tooo but , there is one more Albert Lee !!
Love it
In this video we can clearly see where Brent Mason gets a lot of his sound from.
My God, Brent.
Who's that young kid playing with such monsters? He's AMAZING!
I normally dislike listening to this kind of music, but these kinds of players have my eternal respect for their playing ability and musician ship.
Brent giving them all a lesson.
fantastic jam guys
Brent has a great singing voice.
Seymour Duncan is and always was amazing!
The bass player wants a piece of the cake too
I always wondered who Seymour Duncan was.
Man I would truly love to jam with Brent, after I stopped staring...peck
The kid was really, really. good! I think he kind of lit a fire under Brent's ass! Because Brent's playing after that seems like "you want play with the big boys huh? and pulls off an amazing solo. I may be nuts that's just the impression and body language I read?
Poor ol james showing his age but still rocking, brent holding all together best he can
I’ll rank these men in order:
1) James Burton - simply because he wrote most the licks Brent and others are building off of.
2) Brent - Best player overall.
3) Sol
4) Duncan - Not the best player in this era. Guitar talent is so much better today than back then.
Everyone keeps asking on here who the kid on the end is…I believe it’s Jonny Lang.
Wow Mason CRAZY LMAO
have spoken to brett on line . have met seymour at a guitar clinic in australia . i play a james burton red flame tele .
wooh your so cool
Who is the young guy pickin' the gold Tele? Anybody know??
I love Brent Mason, nothing wrong with other styles tho. Wow
Outstanding guitarists. Shame the recording is so poor. It is so compressed.
Imagine if Danny Gatton were still alive.....
Damn I hate to say it, but Duncan got outplayed by every guitarist on stage, including that kid.
I agree, but he was also somewhat lost in the mix.
@@axelbiehl419 And that is a good thing.
If I have I've forgotten it but I've never heard Brent sing on stage before he ain't Merle but he's purty doggone good ain't he..
Talk about your MODED TELES! Wow. The Humbucker Tele show.
You and Jennifer still owe me $$$
And you were right. He was second!
James Burton is the only one up there playing who looks normal and isn't making every face in the book picking every note like the other ones who look like they're all pissed off at their guitars, lol
who's the kid??? He is great too..
I believe that Telecasters migrate to be groomed and loved on by these folks !
Tele party!
Great TONE!!!!!!
No. I see your point though. SD probably didn't get invited onto the stage for his talent. He is on the stage because he is Seymour Duncan. A lot of people in RnR really love this guy. Heck, if he played as bad as me(not talented) he'd still get invited to the stage.
superbionicbatman he’s a rocker. Nobody should compare him to James or Brent. Apples/oranges. He deserves to be up there.
No Cowbell?
Mind if I use it on James Burton's site?
LOL!!! That's what I was wondering!
Sol kicks butt on a dumpster-diven PartsCaster - someone give that boy a Valley Arts MasonCaster!
All Star??? How about “all tele?”
More TELE !!!
a tele with humbuckers?? mmm no...filtertrons or tv jones and a bigsby yes but...
Duncan can play! obviously not the best out of the bunch, let's see how you would fare against the best! AND HE MAKES REALLY GOOD PICKUPS! Props to him and whatever he has going on...
Awesome guitar players, all of them! Great Jam! I can see why Seymour has that belly carve in his tele! haha! Just kidding!
I don't think he would be scared to play with anybody.....lol. amazing player himself
Struggling to think of many better, living pickers.
Great jam but the drummers bass drum is way out of time throughout the song.... sound man should have caught that and took the bass drum out the mix....!!! 😜
What this song ??
Name of song is 🥁🥁🥁 stupid comment I'm too lazy to work.
That's the name of this song , Do you understand ?
James invented it, Brent perfected it, Sol has been running wild with it. Seymour is lucky he makes pickups better than he plays 😂
4:05 wtf!😂😂😂
"Let's trade off in 2s" Or not lol.
Ha! Look at Sol Philcox!!! hahahaha
seymours tone?
Awful! And he's got no excuse, seeing as he makes the pickups!
Seymour needs to stick to making pickups if I played like that in front of top guitar players I would be embarrassed as hell
Soferas brent mason james burton
I tell you bvb guys you are all damn good but watch that young kid playing damn get good but vfc hey all if you ccx were
Great fun and playing!! Otherwise... Only this kid have a real Telecaster.. lol
What in the name of everything holy and sacred is going on with that drummer? Crap on a cracker dude. Long time since I heard anything quite that bad that just wouldn't stop.
Telegasm.
Chicken's be like, now that's the way to pick
haha didn't think James Burton would be the third best on stage!!!
He's not.
sol philcox
the audio is really bad…..over compressed and jumbled. rumbley low mids
nasty bass drum ouch!
whats happening to that bass drum? better just keeping it straight-
Hey doesn’t the long haired feller make pick ups 😵💫
vocal is out of sync with the audio on the singing...
Sol looks like he's constipated!!! ;-)
Sarcasm doesn't work on the internet.
WTF ????? is going on with the drummer..Les a beat off To say the least.
Great guitar players, but somehow it seems that the drummer is out to lunch? Is it me or he is actually off beat some time?
Roland GILBERT not his fault- it’s this damn triggered “syn” drums.
Those I meant
thats brents brother randy on the drums!
