What can I say? Thanks for sharing this video. And thanks dear Charles-Edouard for your legacy. Surely the most beautiful house in the world. Thanks God for bring us a man like Corbusier. No matter for the music in the video, it's right, contemporary and the sound is good. Regards fron Ecuador, SouthAmerica.
FELICIDADES ! / What you are doing, naturally must touch the heart of people. You are making constant simbiosys betwen two best forms of Art created by the Man: MUSIC and ARCHITECTURE at the same time. CONGRATULATIONS !!
Amazing work. Im having James Fitzpatrick(Australian Architect) to design our new home in Marjaniemi,Finland. from 1928-1931 only 3 years to build this back then. Wow.. Hope Our new home only takes two Years to complete.
I get what you mean about the building. How we interpret architecture is entirely subjective and there is no right and wrong, only like and dislike. I think though, that one has to look at what else was being built at the time to appreciate why this building is so radical. It is lacking in intricacy but that is why the distillation of light and form is so beautiful.
There is no luxury in La Villa Savoye. It, like his other works, is a "machine for living." Its every form has a defined function. Luxury is not only defined but the "amount of something" but its qaulity. A good design's space must also evoke emotions and feelings.
On an intellectual I understand why Corbusier is so important .. he, more than anyone, stripped architecture of its elitism and brought it to the people .... however for sheer poetry of architecture there is no greater genius than that of FLWs.
if you wanna see some modern architecture like that in cinema i suggest you some Ernst Lubitsch's movie like "design for life" (1933) or "Ninotchka" (1939)
Lovely piano version that exposes the bones of the melody. It's wonderfully appropriate here. But then there's the lyrics made famous in dozens of memes, by Tommee Profitt's beautiful if mournful vocals. "I tried so hard, and went so far, but in the end, it doesn't even matter." And that, too, matches how I feel about Le Corbusier's architecture.
in 1920 this was scifi wtf a kind of spaceship... a gate to the new era of hitech imagine been in that era of titanic and cars fast as a scooter,, then gonna inside that build and feels like 2001 aso, bladerunner, minority report.. imagine how strong it has to be for those minds..
About the music: I actively dislike Linkin Park generally, including the full-band performance of this song. But the piano version here is lovely, while perfectly expressing the joylessness of LeC's concrete box.

I am very happy to see this video. I hope one day I am fortunate enough to see Villa Savoye in person.
Beautiful restoration job looks better than when it was first built
The music beautifully expresses the joyless sterility of the architecture.
Yes, I hate the building but love the music.
tres belle music et présentation

Everything's great. Just hope you could show more details. I'm really interested in this building : )
que sacrilegio poner esta cancion a la ville savoye!
Which perfectly reveal space with simplicity. Space is luxury, I like super flat construction with lots of space.
thank you very much for posting this !
he was just an amazing architekt a minimalistic pioneer

Magnificent. Now we know who invented minimalism...
Thanks !
You're right. It's an instrumental version of the song 'In the End' of Linkin Park, from the album 'Hybrid Theory'.
