Aaah yeah, if you look close, the groove they milled out for the sharp edge to stop the wings from hitting is milled into both sides.

This would be the perfect design for a dual edge dagger blade, but those blade types aren't for everyone.
I usually just open my left hand and put the knife in it with your right hand. Then.... close your hand around the knife. That's how I switch hands with my knife. I'm crazy... I know
As a "long time" MC Viewer/subscriber for the past several years or so I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing knives that I don't actually care to own...I'm not a collector... But I haven't gotten excited about any of the knives shown recently... My last purchase was the LEGENDARY Vision FG and I am still more than happy with that choice as my EDC. But this?!? I feel the same way I did when MC did the unboxing of the FG... Now I've jumped from -$100 range to +$300...DAMN YOU AND YOUR LOGIC MC!!!!

I have one of the first edition of this AWESOME knife. Mine doesn’t have the pocket clip and I see there are 2 different blade styles. Definitely picking up another as funds allow🤘🏻 Thanks for the video!!!

I’m sure you know by now, but yes you flip the blade to be right or left handed. So simple but so ingenious at the same time.

The lock/switch is 180 degrees wrong. Push forward is like a stabbing motion and the blade should lock, not release. C’mon guys these are the basics.
It looks like it both deploys and retracts with a forward push of the release. But it would be enlightening to try it both ways with a push and pull action
I don't think it matters that much. Not many people will try to hold their knife with the thumb pushing forward on the switch while "stabbing". Pretty awkward and unnatural in practice.

I edc microtechs and an infidel and have never negligently sprung or zipped one up in some pretty heavy tasks. This design looks even more secure than those. Gravity blades are hot right now

@@monkeBeastTitan Incorrect. You only get fined when caught. Like butterfly knives this one would fall under illegal items here, so even possession is a crime. Not worth taking that risk just for a knife....even if I don't agree with this part of our weapons laws.

You live with a certain risk. But not getting caught does not change legality de facto. Here the benefit of having such a knife does not outweigh that risk for me. Others might think differently. I have 200+ other nice knives to play with.

I’m glad they didn’t release it with a double edge. because it would make it illegal in many places. Like this it’s the only full size otf I’m legally allowed to carry in my country. Cool!
Texas classifies double edged blades as daggers, and they were illegal when I lived there. Caught a misdemeanor UCW, or Unlawfully Carry a Weapon charge for a double edged bootknife.
yes the blade can be flipped over. I got 1 of these when the 1st dropped like a month or 2 ago and i wish mine had the pocket clip like the 1 u got.

They're cool, but I really don't like the button in the middle thing, particularly since it's pushed toward the blade.
But it's very well made and a lot of fun. My brother has a similar gravity knife.

Not really. They're ambidextrous sort of. You can take it apart and flip the blade over depending if you want it left or right.
Not sure why they do these half thought out reviews. The information is on their website and there's probably printed instructions with the knife. It's just lazy to do a review and not know everything about the item
@@fauxque5057 This is an unboxing. He usually does an unboxing when the knife arrives and then a full review after he's had time to carry it and get more familiar with it. The unboxings are for people like me with short attention spans who don't typically want to sit through a 30 minute review. The reviews are subjective for the most part although MC will provide more technical information. I guarantee he'll explain how to take it apart and flip or swap the blade in the actual review. I don't know if he'll disassemble it or not. He does that occasionally. That's Nick Shabazz territory.

I’m not a fan of gravity knives or OTFs. Could be because I have never used one. But I enjoy the snappy feel of opening with a stud or flipper. Those seem like they would take the fun out of it.

I think for OTFs (whether gravity or spring-loaded), double edged should be the base blade style.
For me, the only reason to get one would be to have a safe, pocketable double edged blade.
The gen 1 swordfish came out in jan or feb and didn't have a pocket clip, the button had very little traction and it only came in the tanto blade

You can flip the blades, and, I believe you can swap blades, as well.

OTFs have always underwhelmed me, compared to side openings autos, but these gravity knives really change that.
I always thought otfs were so-so as well until I started carrying a dual edge with full serrations on one side and plain edge on the other. I don't like smaller knives with partial serrations but it's also nice to have them. The dual edge is really nice. The serrations hog through things when I need it so I can save the good edge for when I need something super sharp
If you deployed my almost new Microtech Halo VI and felt the power of 4.5 inches of M390 steel launching out and locking with no blade play, I think you would change your mind.
@@bullridermusic2054 I've always wanted to get my hands on one of those just to see what it feels like when it fires. I just have no real use for a single action otf. The whole reason I carry one is for the super simple one handed operation
According to Remette, the blade can be easily flipped for right or left hand use.

If they made this with double edges serrated on one and plain on the other, I would probably get this. Having double edge is one the biggest reasons to have OTF knives.

The blades are fully reversible for left hand or right hand carry. Found this out by accident taking the first run apart.

I don't think you get an option. The product listing shows both sides of the knife so when you choose the style to order, the insert will be the one shown. If this knife become popular, which seems inevitable because it's novel and cool, I wouldn't be surprised if they start selling aftermarket, or even third party custom inserts. As for now it looks like there are two blade shapes, two handle options, two finish options, and four different inserts. And now I want one. I'll add it to the ever growing list.

I clicked expecting it to be silly... I stayed because it actually looks pretty cool. I think gravity knives are to OTFs what lockbacks are to side openers. This is a really imteresting take on gravity knives.

Would love one but here in the UK a gravity knife is completely banned amongst many other things criminals carry around in public everyday.
You can't say "it should be double edged" and then immediately afterwards say "Careful if it isn't all the way out as it will drag along the spine, but not the edge" I tried to think of a way to say that nicely because I love the channel, so sorry if I sound like an ass!

It doesn't drag on the spine at all. It drags on the latches at the base of the blade so a double edge wouldn't change anything
