I just bought one of these also mahogany for 200 bucks.
They appear to be a limited special run.
Regarding the sound, other strings will change that.
    I never use fender strings.

Doesn't compare in sound to a Gibson SJ-200 or Hummingbird, but of course they are in two different price ranges.

Really comparing a (super) Jumbo or a dreadnaught with a Triple-O Size soundwise? And 5000 bucks with 600?

Of course, they're made for different purposes and price points, but for the price point this Fender is, All-Solid wood starts to open up, it's quite new. Flamed Maple binding & inlays, Ebony bridge pins, Bone Nut and Saddle, and a very good fit and finish make this guitar very woody looking and sounding, while other more expensive guitars still use plastic all over ... Plus comes with an awesome thick soft case.

Thanks for the comment, I noticed the sound is opening up since it's a new guitar, and as it's All-Solid it will improve as time goes by... but you have to consider this is made more for playability comfort in mind so it may not sound as the big Dreadnaught or other larger Grand Auditoriums.
