  • What is Septoplasty Functional Rhinoplasty?
Functional Septoplasty Rhinoplasty corrects the blockages in airway passages of nose usually caused by a deviated septum. It involves both treatments of internal and external airway blockages and possible the correction of an aesthetic concern. Nasal obstruction and difficulty breathing normally can cause problems such as snoring, lack of sleep and daytime sleepiness because of improper oxygen flows.
When the nasal septum is crooked or is not centred, it not only obstructs the passage of air, but also, prevents proper nasal drainage which leads to more bacteria inside the patient’s nose and this can result in frequent suffering from sinus infections.
The good news is that septoplasty functional rhinoplasty can correct the deformity and help to resolve all of these issues. If you are considering a septoplasty, research and find a properly trained facial plastic surgeon who should also be a trained otolaryngologist with excellent education and experience.
