The amazing thing about this company and their guns is that if you ever have to use your gun in a self defense situation and it gets confiscated for evidence, they will send you a replacement.
I never even considered this for self-defense, it seems to me like some kind of entry level competition gun. But I looked it up and apparently it's a duty ready firearm, I guess that's what the DR stands for.. I just can't see spending $1,000 on 9mm handgun. But thats subjective.
Awesome review and the info you provided was top notch IMO. I picked this gun up a few months ago and absolutely love it. I am not a Glock guy, though I have owned many over the years, but, this Glock "Like" gun wins in my opinion because of the trigger, the back straps, heavy barrel, steel guide rod and light-ness due to all the custom slide cut-outs. Yeah, I put down my G19 and now this is my EDC on the job. Keep up the great work on these videos!
Have put about 2000 rounds through this gun. I could not get it to run properly without running Glock mags. Therefore, I replaced the mag catch with a factory Glock one. Much happier ever since
The comment about reholstering reminds me of something I tell everybody, especially when they have issues with appendix carry. If you're like a lot of people nowadays and you're using a Kydex holster with one clip, they're super easy to remove. If you have to re-holster a chambered firearm, you can always pop the holster off, re holster the firearm, then pop the holstered gun back on.
This Allen gent does one outstanding review. Sportman's guide combined with this review just sold me a War Poet Society Shadow Works DR920. Would like to hear what he thinks of Holosun red dot sights

I'm one of those big handed people and I LOVE my DR920. I have the MR920 as well, but it's just too small. This is without a doubt, a great pistol. All the upgrades in the right places. Picked mine up for the same price as a Glock17. It was a no brainer.
It is a great gun, I am not a super fan of the rear serrated sight. I will shoot it a few more times before I decide to replace it. I have big hands and this is comfy to shoot and shoots fantastic.
Many prefer the serrated blacked out rear sight because it allows your eye to focus on the front sight picture. The human eye can only focus on 1 focal point at any given time, so cycling between rear sight, front sight, target is slower than front sight and target. Traditional three dot sight picture works, but is not as efficient as black rear and hi viz front post in our opinion. In the end do what works best for you.

What is the difference between the dr and the mr I carry a full size p320 and going to purchace one but don't want to lose round capacity . and really dont need the threaded barrel
The DR is a Glock 17. The MR is a Glock 19. They sell an XR920 which is a Glock 17 frame with Glock 19 slide and a MR920L which is a Glock 19 frame with a Glock 17 slide. You can get them without the threaded barrel. I purchased the MR920L at my lgs, very happy with it. I tried Glocks at my local range and found them uncomfortable to shoot. The backstrap setup on the Shadow Systems made the difference for me.
My dr920 has a very noisy recoil spring and was wondering if im the only one experiencing this? And trying to find something to remedy it if anyone knows. Thanks
The non elite version (no window cuts in the slide) non threaded barrel, but still has the optic cut I’ve seen for 800. The elite version pictured here I’ve seen for 900 without a threaded barrel and 950 for the threaded barrel. Msrp for the elite with threaded barrel is 999. The DR920 isn’t offered in the non optic cut “combat” like the g19 sized MR929. Those can be had for 699 if you shop around. Seems like a lot of money until you buy a Glock for 599-750, then add sights (100 bucks) add undercut and stipple job (200-400) then add a trigger (100-200) then add a precision barrel (150-250) and you still don’t get the changeable grip angle, accelerator cuts, serrations on the slide, or the mag well. The last year I sold off all my glocks and with the political climate they almost paid for my three shadow systems. The optic cut doesn’t use bogus plates, and more importantly you don’t have to run suppressor height sights to cowitness with an optic. The frame on these alone makes the price difference worth it, the extras are just bonus.
MR920 fits almost all G19 holsters, and DR920/MR920L fit the G17 holsters. shadow systems has a lot of info for people looking to get into them on their website under the FAQs too.

The only problem is displaying a black gun against the dark background of your shirt. There is no contrast, and we missed most of the features that were not zeroed in.

Have several Glocks and other pistols. The MR920 I now own is my favorite to shoot and carry. Excellent pistol.
This DR920 could very well be my first Glock type. Nice extra features. Really like the grip angle conversion option.
Get a real Glock these are trash

Got an mr920 last year. Makes my Glock feel cheap.
I have the xr920 and sig p320 xcarry.....the xr920 has taken its place as my edc.....
Had the dr920 to me it feels like a p80 frame only downside I don’t like,so I just sticked with the Glock 19 gen 5
