For those who wonder why Sora's counter triggers from behind sometimes, as I'm sure a lot of you have found out the hard way, it's because of how hitboxes often work.
Someone like seph ftilt's hitbox might be like this long, right?
Frame 14 ftilt: --- 3 skinny hitboxes
Well on the first active frame it comes out, it doesn't come out like this
1st active frame: -
2nd active frame: --
3rd active frame: ---
No, the whole length of the hitbox is out and if it *overlaps* Sora's hurtbox to hit the counter box on the other side, it will take *priority*
Very few moves like Pikachu/Incin fsmash have initial sourspot frames that move the sweetspot outward the following frame that make more sense in a physical context because they would more than likely hit Sora from behind first which is where your logic comes from when you think "But I was behind him!"
But most moves work like this, where they are at their full range on their first active frame and I can imagine a lot of moves can reach over Sora's skinny hurtbox so I imagine this happens a lot, *especially* with the i-frames Sora has as well.
Better example for this is Min Min, it's impossible for Sora to counter the dragon from behind unless the laser comes out without the dragon hitting Sora

Yay I got in ! (2:19) Happy to have you react to my clip, I'll do some explaination :
During the multihit of up-air, 4 hitboxes are active, 2 on the side that pull in, 1 at the bow that pulls down and 1 on Pit's head that pull up, this last one is the one we need to land, and of course to complicate this more it's the one with the less priority (meaning you need to be really precise when landing with it and not overlap with the other hitboxes)
Second thing, Dark Pit cannot full hop from the bottom of the slide to the side platform, but on the middle-upper part of the slide you can, meaning you can more easily get the head hitbox since you'll be able to have a full hop at exactly the good height if you understand the good spacing.
