Thank you so so much for your way of instruction. I've seen a lot of tutorials for "beginners" but they always knot so fast that it is very hard to follow and that is quite demotivating.

I used a true 4mm, and your cord seems much larger. I'm kinda disappointed in how mine turned out, looking for something chunky like yours.
What was the size of your ring (diameter)
I want to make this as a placemat design. Instead of a hoop do you think I could use a crochet hook for attach the macrame cord to a round rope placemat (zigzag stitch the cord to the size I need)? Or do I need to use a hoop?

Lindo trabalho! Poderia passar as medidas dos fios em centímetros? Obrigada.
Para cada polegada você multiplica por 24,4. O resultado sai em mm e aí vc divide por 10 e dará em cm.
Aro de 20 cm
1 corda de 18" equivale a 45,72 cm
1 corda de 30" equivale a 76,20 cm
3 cordas de 34" equivale a 3 cordas de 86,36 cm cada

Add 3" to all the cordage....
Could you do this with 3mm cord, that is all I have and finding cord around here is impossible.
