I think it could also be referring to the economy we used to have pre "war on poverty" cause it was Reagan's slogan, too.

Tom is oppression he is oppressing you into a singular mindset that is designed to divide and not to unite? The left and right want you to chose a side a corruption sided regardless. So at the end of the day the fact tom's music is celebrated and platformed on RUclips, iTunes etc shows what a puppet he is and how he is designed to.manipulate you and to make you think a certain way.

The line is also "I just pray we go back to the old days, land of the free home of the brave" which I agree more implies back to the "old days" of loving this country instead of hating it. If I'm not mistaken, this came out around the same time Tom had a line in another song "most of the Americans all hate America" so it's something that's been discussed by these artists in other ways as well.

When he said "back to the good old days" he was just talking about going back to when there wasn't so much division, and when people loved our country. He wasn't talking about going back 1 or 2 hundred years. There was a lot of division and (atrocities) back then too. We came so far as Americans, and now it seems we're going backwards

Great reaction and thoughts. Adam and Struggle are traditional American conservatives, Tom doesn't like being labelled but many see him as a Libertarian that has had enough of the hypocritical progressive left. This album started because Adam dissed Tom as just being a gimmick, Tom saw this and got in touch and they argued on the phone, an hour later they hung up as friends and kept in touch, a year later they did this collaboration. They are all independent but Tom is making waves and people notice him. #HOG UK always here for it.

Rosalie, as you know we all have light and darkness within us. These monuments, of what you consider evil people, also had light and darkness within them as well. The problem is history remembers only what it likes and what it hates and defines those individuals as such. It creates an illusion that good and evil can be separated. It can not. All of these talks about what should stay and what should go is merely a tool of division. Look at how they create the hate of an object and then transfer that hate onto people who look similar to that object. It’s not the monument they want to get rid of, it’s the people they associate with it. You can’t kill the monster without becoming the monster.

  • @Frostrazor

The only caveat i would add to your soapbox is that many times, people today want to hold historical persons or events to today's social standards. That is disingenuous.
While we know now that our founding fathers made mistakes by today's standards for social equality, it in no way diminishes the good they and many others did in history that were considered "the norm" in that time frame.
Most historical persons we honor did heinous acts by today's standards. Whether it's invading other land, persecuting persons of other religions, public horrible executions and torture, etc.
We should not automatically hold historical acts of barbarism, philosophy or lifestyles to those of todays standards in our advanced Age of Reason. Even The Bible teaches us God killed many people in heinous ways (flood, plagues, cities like Sodom and Gamorrah etc) all for the sake to establish a better world. Every flag around the world is covered in a little blood.

You are tackling this from a rational, reasonable, and cultural standpoint and was delivered in a concise and productive way. Thanks for your perspective on these matters. I think more conversations could happen from this place across our country with productivity in mind we would be in a much less divisive place as a nation. Great reaction. One of my favorite songs. On the statue and bridge issue, I have a bit different take on that. If the person done something that warranted being memorialized while they were living, what right do we have today, to compare them to today's standards and remove their statue. They done something that their peers deemed worthy regardless of how they lived their lives. IMHO, we should not remove any history... An example, Franco used fascistic means, but he saved Spain from the socialists and anarchists who were trying to destroy the country. Would you remove his statues for being a bad person who saved his country?

For me, the problem with the modern day being allowed to remove statues etc is that I would challenge anyone to find a person in history that is 100% virtuous.
Heck, even MLK jr has skeletons. If we go be the merit of virtue, who is the arbiter?
Too many of this is virtue signaling but what happens if the opposite side comes to power? I’d much rather we add a plaque to the statues that explains the nuance involved. Now, if the statute has no significance to the area it is in, then I’d be ok removing it.

exactly that. In the town I live we have that. There is a rock that honors a person on one side for all the good he has done after leaving the town and country, but on the other side of the rock it points out all the bad he has done here which led to him leaving and moving to another country.
I think this is how statues should be handled. There is always good and bad when it comes to people. And this way history won't be removed but it is shown that things are usually not black and white and a lot more complex than most people would like.

People overlook the facts about the person you see as evil. They lived in their timelines not ours and their environment was changing just as ours. Those statues are not about what we see as evil they did today they are there to reveal the changes they made from evil to doing good for the nation. They may have had slaves but later in their lives they became those that became the strongest voices against slavery. Those statues represent and remind us of how far we have came as a nation in the hope that we will never repeat it. Without these reminders we are doomed to repeat them.

The struggle Jennings is talking about putting your armor of God on in other words you said that we're in the end times and is obvious so put your armor got on and get ready to fight because that's what's going to come down to you either with God or you're not that's simple as it gets that's a simple as it gets

The only problem is where does it stop and who makes the decisions on what is blatantly evil because in their time most of these Men were the great men of their time and were instrumental in building the greatest country ever known. As we evolve then yes we can see the faults that these Great Men had but instead of keeping those monuments up that pass down the knowledge that even the greatest of men have made mistakes so the greatness should be appreciated and the faults be acknowledged and learned from and both passed on to the next generations. Even MLK was not close to perfect he committed adultery over and over aswell as abusive to women but thats not what is focused on and his statues monuments and so on are not torn down as they absolutely should not be. Was it wrong what he did yes so that should definitely be understood but his greatness of all the good he did should still be praised and celebrated and remembered forever. Good ol days is speaking on how the patriotic spirt has been systematicly disassembled by inflaming division with propaganda delivered by those in power to gain more power. In generations past most houses on every street in this nation flew a flag and were very patriotic including minorities that were living through the times of racial bias. If you talk to an older generation Black Man or Woman they are still greatful for the privilege to have been born and live in America. The first thing an invading power has done over and over throught all human history is to erase the concored peoples history, religion and pride of country and cause division between the patriots trying to keep fighting for there freedom and their country and the rest of the population then those people forget their past and become submissive to the new people in power. To the kneeling and burning flags, the American Flag belongs to the patriots, the military men and the veteran that drew power and moral reminding them those they left beshind to fight for it does not belong to the citizens that chose not to fight thats why the flag is saluted because its giving thanks and respect to those of us who volunteered to fight and die for a country that we knowingly may never see again. All of this used to be understood but has gone away by canceling and deleting history and if we continue to do this our country will destroyed itself from the inside out. Research, understand and discuss history celebrate the good and learn and understand the bad to continue to build a more perfect nation but stop erasing the history. If you walk into the woods but dont pay attention to the rout youve taken youll turn around to realize that you are lost and have no idea how you got were you are so now not only can you not go back where you came from there is no moving forward and you now have to start all over.

It's definitely like a pendulum it always goes to the next extreme if it's going to one extreme in the first place the balanced Middle ground is where we need to find unfortunately nobody ever wants to step down and say hey look I'll concede this if you can see that because the one party or the one person saying all concede this if you can see that the other ones like no or its and the other person is trying to compromise and you're the one saying nope. Now I get that everybody has certain things they will not compromise on but not every issue in the world should be held to that I mean like if I want coffee in the morning and my husband does to I'm not going to go make my caramel coffee unless it's a special occasion because I know he prefers the regular or french vanilla but I do have days where I get my caramel coffee that's compromised I don't need to have caramel coffee every day he doesn't need to have regular coffee everyday and I'm not trying to downplay any issue I'm just trying to give an example and this example can be used for more pressing issues in the similar manner.the other problem we have is it's too easy nowadays just to say and walk away nobody wants to take the time it takes to put the work into making relationships work which means that relationships aren't just physical and emotional okay we have situational relationships we have social relationships work relationships I eat on and on and on and so if you want healthy relationships in every aspect you put compromising to every aspect not just the ones you want to. Or am I wrong am I off in left field somewhere?

God is truth; I trust my gut it usually is correct; few friends many acquaintenances; trust is earned. Not the most religous, but I can't follow or trust a Godless man. Don't watch most professional sports because they exclude God for the latest fad or profit. I could support BLM if they were building up black neighborhoods instead of destroying people and communities. Love your reactions🙏🏻🇺🇸✝️✨💖🌹alie

MLK would want to "go back" in the same sense that Booker T. Washington would vs Dubois, that the principles seen in the constitution, declaration and bill of rights obviously must apply to all, and that would be the part worth conserving. Malcom X and Dubois would rather tear down the systems and upend them without proper underlying principles, replacing them with ideas akin to dictatorship and communism. It is often a question conservatives could ask progressives, "progressing to what?". Conserving is stewardship, keeping the good and removing the bad, recognizing malignancy, it is a foolish conservative that wants to just go back to a certain "perfect" time. We know Utopia did not and will never exist, without God's intervention. We must steward until He comes. Same idea for most that would "Make America Great Again." I'm sure Reagan had a different idea when he used it vs Clinton using it, vs Trump using it, but a conservative does recognize there is a seed of greatness in this experiment called America, despite obvious flaws.

I think what frustrates me the most is I do try to do stuff I do try to contact my political representatives and talk to people everyday all-day to try to get the conversations open but because I'm poor I work for minimum wage pretty much and a blue-collar job in the middle of the night I'm not looked at as someone they need to listen to so no matter what I'm just ignored and if I'm not ignored I have bipolar one and I'm thrown in a psych ward because oh she's just crazy. And I get that we are all hypocritical that's impossible not to be in this world you're almost forced into it from birth it without even realizing it. But not all of us are out here just complaining and posting some of us out here posting and complaining are also out in the real world posting and trying to get the word around and trying to get other people even people who are not on their side to start talkin about these issues and start addressing the underlying problems. It's another thing people do is assume that everybody online that b****** it only b****** online that is not true at all ask anyone that knows me I never shut up 😂😂 and another frustration I run into is that when I do bring up politics or write any of these issues that people are passionate about nobody wants to have an open mind and listen to other perspectives and have debates and try to find common ground and compromise and I absolutely don't understand that out of my age group and older I don't know about millennials and down but when I was in school we went debate class we were taught how to debate in a manner that was both sometimes passionate yet still respectful where did that go away at?
