      Maybe the p4p greatest head-to-head matchup to ever occur in real life in all of boxing history, especially in terms of skill and overall boxing IQ/ability? When else in boxing history have two guys the same size both in their primes at the true historic p4p level of Toney and McCallum ever gotten into the ring with one another? Maybe Hearns vs Hagler and Hearns vs Leonard? Or Toney vs Roy Jones and Toney vs Nunn? Ali vs Frazier? Chavez vs Whitaker? Arguello vs Pryor? Maybe these legendary matchups as well. But the point is, it’s extremely rare, and Toney vs McCallum was easily one of the greatest pure boxing matchups to ever occur p4p in the sport’s history

      Only Crawford??? Just out of curiosity, then what about Spence and Canelo and Inoue and Lomachenko and Lopez and Usyk and Fury??? Or the Charlo brothers or Devin Haney? Or Gary Russel Jr? Or above all, in terms of pure boxing prowess... SHAKUR STEVENSON?

    • @kirklandau2826
      @kirklandau2826 3 года назад

      Spence and Canelo and Inoue and Lopez are tremendous “boxer-punchers” of the highest level. Lomachenko and Shakur Stevenson and Gary Russel Jr are tremendous pure boxers, as are Fury and Usyk by the standards of the heavier weight classes. The Charlo brothers and Devin Haney and the immensely powerful Jaron Ennis are impressively slick and skillful boxer-punchers as well. The rising Vergil Ortiz Jr is like the great Gennady Golovkin in that he’s a great boxer-puncher and swarmer hybrid. Anthony Joshua is a very good boxer puncher as well, by heavyweight standards at least.

But what I asked if you can do and interview with the sons of the second coach he spoke of. Keith Lee who recently passed away, so is not able to speak on a lot of the James toney topic. He also had several other fighters that he turned into world champions. And his name should be brought up in a lot of conversations. Especially around the Detroit Mich area He’s a legendary coach. And I would love If you did a segment about him. His coaching Defense styles and techniques . He also had a son that he coach that box professionally Keith Lee jr. That still live in the city, also three others that boxed. And one the coaches now marcus Phillip Lee.

    No disrespect, but this ain't exactly the way it was. There was a white guy named Greg that he started out with , and before Jackie was Johnny Ace rip. Toney ended up being a Great fighter no doubt and one of the best ever, but, I know a bit about it . Toney would come to Livonia to train some.He was at 8th St on Weddel when he was with Johnny Ace. Clarence Adams was running it and his sons Tank and Bones in training. Smitty was training fighters with his "mock" boxing technique. Vince Hopper rip, Spencer Chavis, John Hanna, Hurley Sneed, Jeff Styers were there . To my memory, he went back to Livonia a bit to spar, then Jackie opened a Gym on 5 mile in Redford. Jackie was a Great manager and Toney a great fighter, but let's not forget Greg.
