Hey guys, in this video I show you how to make a very easy emerald farm /glitch which gives a lot of emeralds!
This tutorial shows you how to make the easiest emerald farm In Minecraft 1.19, but it works on older versions as well! With this farm you can get tons of emeralds in Minecraft. You can build this in survival.

You can also just cure the villager 2-3 times, then look for the trade, it works the same without you having to pay the price of the first one.
I would recommend doing the same build, but use two different villager professions. Granted this method requires a few more zombification cycles but I promise it’s worth it. By using librarians for the glass trade and cartographers for the glass pane trade, you can multiply your emeralds and a much faster rate than the books and bookshelves strategy
Though bookshelves are Expensive and its a Pretty Nice Payoff I Agree with you fully.

@Godatomic yes otherwise on normal it will be a 50 50 chance of turning it into a zombie villager and easy it's 0% but hard is 100%
Just a tip, if you dont have a name tag, you can give the zombie any item and he won't despawn, (for example a dirt block or whatever you want)

Not all zombies have the ability to take items up (CanPickUpLoot property)
That happens to a percentage of zombies
If your enough in your world, listen closely. Your probably thinking of making 10+ of these stations and that’s fine just make sure each one is a cartographer. Mass producing glass at that level should be no problem and the panes are even more so you don’t need librarians just cartographers to buy all your panes.

To add to how many emeralds you get, you can even add some cartographers, since the librarian sells glass, and then the cartographer buy glass panes, and with them both zombified, you can get alot of emeralds of that aswell!

A much more productive method is to simply plant a ton of trees and harvest them for sticks to trade with fletchers for emeralds. It doesn't require a brewing stand or zombie, so perfect for early game, though you can add them later.
You could also make a bamboo farm to make sticks, but yes it requires a minecart and hopper, no problem if you have a golem farm
@@eozineableChances are if you are using a villager farm for emeralds, you'd also have an "iron farm" so long as there are 20 villagers, beds, and work stations, so minecarts and hoppers would no longer be an issue.
Still though, I would not bother with using villagers for getting emeralds. The amount of time required to manually collect enough wood, breed villagers etc vs how many emeralds you get isnt worth it. Even if you were to automate the bamboo, items needed would pretty much be as "complex" as the items needed for a raid farm.
Emerald / raid farms these days are so much safer and easier to make, and compared to trading, the amount of emeralds you'd get is stupidly higher than trading. Like 20 times greater
even more productive is running sugar cane and kelp Kelp can me farmed like stupid easy and at high rates and quickly for bone meal (early on) but it wont keep up with growth and end game kind of rates

Instead of that many librarians you can use cartographers. Buy glass from librarian and convert it into glass panes. 1 pane for 1 emerald. It's 32 emeralds in exchange for 3 emeralds.

Pairing this with the cartographer and the cleric for the glass panes and glass bottle trades makes this even more efficient if you have a bookshelf trade and glass trade

Im here one year later and it doesnt work. I cured a villager twice but the bookshelf trade would cost 2 emeralds and after a while it'd go back to 3? Do you know if they patched it?

Yeah, now the prices of trades only go down once after curing and never again no matter how many times you cure the villager unfortunately. Something else you can do tho, is build a glitch string farm, then get a fisherman villager that trades string for emerald. You should be able to get a lot of emerald considering that the glitch string farm produces about 30000 strings per hour. Hope this helps

Hello, ive cured the villager three times and the trade is still only 3 emeralds for a bookshelf why is that?, im on 1.20.4 because im using optifine, did minecraft patch that?

Need to specify that it doesnt work on 90% of the servers servers since they are running on spigot, paper or anything else and they have capped lowest cost of bookshelfs at 3 emeralds.

Yes, having it on hard difficulty ensures the villager will always turn into a zombie villager after being exposed to a zombie. On normal difficulty, the villager has a 50% chance of dying instead of turning, and on easy the villager will never turn into a zombie villager and will die every time. Having it on hard difficulty is the only way to guarantee that the villager will keep turning into a zombie villager after every zombie encounter. If you’re on any other difficulty the villager will almost definitely die before reaching the full discounted rates, meaning you’ll have to trap a new villager and start from scratch.

TLDR: Make a raid farm instead --- All things considered, this is definitely a huge waste of time for very LITTLE emeralds. With the effort of getting to the Nether, finding and killing Blaze just to get Weakness potion, or even spam resetting a Fletcher for arrow of weakness, Librarian for piercing and then collecting enough gold and apples, it is WAY more beneficial to make even a basic non-optimized raid farm. Ideally take the time to make a good one, like SilentWhisperers latest one.

it helps tremendously early game. you can trade with a couple librarians like this to help upgrade your tools in small, but meaningful ways. not to mention it also gives you a ton of xp while doing this.

in my experience, the biggest reason why a lot of players shy away from building raid farms is because it breaks the game. it sucks out all the fun of the game. it's much too op.

For some reason I can't get my villager to give me an offer lower than 3 emeralds for a bookshelf no matter how many times I cure him. What am I doing wrong??
I had issues with the villager not restocking his trades. I believe it was because he was in a constant state of panic, as he was standing in the same place inside his booth, and he was standing too close to one side of the booth (and also not restocking lol) . I fixed this by extending the zombie "chamber" back by 1 block, so the zombie could walk back periodically, allowing the villager to restock while the zombie wasn't in his line of sight.
Hope this helps someone, as i couldn't find anyone on the internet talking about this issue.

Put the game on hard difficulty, that will give the villagers a 100% chance of turning into zombies instead of just dying

We need to do the "zombification" in hard mode difficult because otherwise the villager will just die.

i did this and made sure it was a bookshelf trade but i never actually got a book for emerald trade so i wasted all my emeralds lvl-ing up the trades in hope to eventually get a book for emerald trade that never came :)

The villager is guaranteed to turn into a zombie villager if it is on hard.
I mean i wouldnt really call this a farm, a farm is more like doing a emerald raid farm where emeralds are passively collected in large quantities
just have a villager with a emerald for book and a bookshelf for emerald trade and just turn them zombie and stuff

My advice is to build an iron farm with chunkloader (sounds like more work than it is), then breeding a lot of weaponsmiths and toolsmiths and trading iron with them.
Perhaps the same zombie conversion technique can be used to decrease iron costs

It will go away slowly but you can just flip the lever to weaken and then cure the villager to get low prices again

(In PaperMC, it doesn’t work I don’t know why). Craft barrel and make fisherman villager. Sell strings to him and that’s it. After 1.20.2, I guess only way to obtain fast emeralds is trading…

Hi I tried it a few times but the villager wont trade books for emeralds even if he levels up, is there something i did wrong?
If you trade with him the trades will be locked in. This means that he will never change his trades. You need to use a fresh villager that hasnt been traded with before to change the trades.

They are going to patch it in the near future, as its officially recognized as "a bug" by microsoft. Its already pre-patched by some custom servers like spigot or paper. You can disable the patch in the server's config/*config.yml tho.
