      Regulus.
      Can you stop them?
      Of course you can. Hell, the massed firepower of private citizens could "remove the problem" if it needed to, let alone needing governmental organizations.
      The better question is, ARE 10K asylum seekers (cause, that's what they are, not immigrants) that much of a threat to the USA?
      If they truly are such a threat, you should shut down all tourism, because millions of people every year visit the US, and it's far, far easier for them to "get lost off the grid" than a publicly televised caravan.

    Why don’t reporters ask anti-immigration people “Why did your family immigrate to USA?”

    • @cesarebachelli
      @cesarebachelli 6 лет назад

      To be honest, the US must curb illegal immigration. The US resources and system are inefficient enough to cater for the current population. Many things have changed over the years that the US can't simply let any immigrants in. Regardless, when people are running away from unrest in their country, they must be processed thoroughly - not simply rejected or caged

    • @PenguinApple
      @PenguinApple 6 лет назад

      The US resources are absolutely enough to cater to every and any immigrant if we wanted to, it's just a matter of where those resources come from. Not that we'd want to do that, but to say it's not possible is simply not true

    I’ve been an independent since i started voting, because I don’t like the two party system. It’s not football. If we got rid of the parties, it would force voters to be informed. Creating a better democracy.

    • @Jarnauga
      @Jarnauga 6 лет назад

      ghostface98 6, hm not really, sadly. The problem with voters not being informed is often just a problem of lack of time and education. A German Philosopher claimed in the 70s in a radio discussion that the education-standard is not high enough for a democracy to work properly, anywhere. Of course its been a while since then, but not that much has changed since then. He made some important points. For a democracy to properly work, the voters would need to be educated enough to work through complex topics that the politicians make decisions on, they have to be able to work themselves into a topic to a certain level. Not as much as the politicians, but enough to actually evaluate the decisions of politicians. Otherwise people are just voting on who they like and/or who supports some general views that they hold, or certain groups that they belong to. They often focus on single issues. Parties in general are not bad, but the two party system in the US is. Over here in Germany, and generally in Europe, we got more Parties, just as the US does, but over here it is kinda normal that they make coalitions, because parties getting enough votes to rule by themselves is rare. That forces more working together with either the coalition-partner, or the opposition. Over here we are governed by basically our equivalent of the Republicans and democrats in a coalition. The big-coalition as its called over here. Before that the conservative CDU of Merkel used to do a coalition with the free-market-liberals. Oh, and they are normally in a permanent coalition with the CSU, which is a splinter-party of the CDU, or rather its the CDU in Bavaria. Its not perfect, but its a better system than the US got. Sometimes leads to watered down policies though. And some problems of parties slowly drifting towards each other and not being that much different. But we do got a more left wing party, which would be similar to Bernie or the new progressive democrats or what they called. But they usually don't get enough votes and our version of the democrats does not want to align with them, as they have more progressive views and are still sometimes seen as socialists, same as Bernie was. Currently the left wing over here is pushing for a coalition of our version of the democrats with the left wing party and the green party, but especially the democrats are reluctant, and are currently slowly dying at the side of the conservative CDU under Merkel. Which also got a bit more center, drifting towards the spot the SPD, our democrats, hold. Over all, a bit more movement and slow change happening over here, compared to the US, thanks to that system.
      A system without parties would probably work similarly, but then you got a senate/congress with all independents, and no real blocks that do vote together on many issues and can debate internally to represent one idea, rather than everyone chiming in. That would probably only work with certain types of people in there, like Philosophers, that are actually trained and educated in professional argumentation, understanding different viewpoints, and will debate forever, but if they get a deadline, they would probably be able to work together and put something down that is not too watered down and actually well thought through, rather than what we now got or with the same kind of politicians, just as independents, to many people in there that are not competent enough to hold proper discussions and concede points, hold themselves to certain standards of logical, critical and scientific thinking. That is the bigger issue, and in part it stems from the voters not being educated enough. The US TV-spots for elections are often crazy and outright propaganda, fear-mongering, and generally play to emotions. And the fact that that is the case, shows that voters don't vote rationally. And the democrats are not much better than the republicans. Our spots over here are much more rational and level-headed, and freaking boring as hell. And while they play less aggressively towards emotions, they don't exactly go in-dept on anything. Its more phrases and nicely packed nothings, or policy on a simplistic level. Our debates are a bit better in that, but most people don't watch them, same as sitting of our version of senate. So there is one of the big problems, people don't care to get in-dept information on the candidates they vote for or their policies. They don't care for debates or hard hitting questions, at least many don't. They vote on rather broad information, feelings, and sometimes just vote what they always voted. But its a bit more change over here than the US, just slow. But that is a problem that democracies and big societies have in general, change goes slow. But having no party does not really force the voters to be more informed, as they did not care to be informed this far, they will just vote for a candidate that roughly fits their core issues they care about and who they like. Maybe it would help a little bit, but I wouldn't expect too much.
      The solution for the US would simply be to use the system that most other democracies use, as it shakes up the stale two party system and forces more bipartisan-ship. But for democracies in general, the core issue is education. If you have educated voters, politicians have to step up their game or will be replaced by more competent ones. And more of those will emerge, since you got more educated people that now would consider running maybe, and more educated voters will also encourage more people to go into politics, because there are quite a few that would like to make better politics and have a more educated discussion on things, but are discouraged by voters not caring for that, I would imagine. Overall, pretty much most of our western philosophy of the enlightenment movement, on which large parts of our democracies and laws are based, would suggest that a higher education leads to a better democracy or is even necessary for it to properly work. And I would generally consider them the experts on the topic.

    The USA created this problem ,learn your history . The term banana republic describes a politically unstable country with an economy dependent upon the exportation of a limited-resource product, such as bananas or minerals. In 1901, the American author O. Henry coined the term to describe Honduras and neighbouring countries under economic exploitation by U.S. corporations, such as the United Fruit Company. Typically, a banana republic has a society of extremely stratified social classes, usually a large impoverished working class and a ruling-class plutocracy, composed of the business, political and military elites of that society.[1] Such a ruling-class oligarchy control the primary sector of the economy by way of the exploitation of labour;[2] thus, the term banana republic is a pejorative descriptor for a servile dictatorship that abets and supports, for kickbacks, the exploitation of large-scale plantation agriculture, especially banana cultivation.
    In economics, a banana republic is a country with an economy of state capitalism, by which economic model the country is operated as a private commercial enterprise for the exclusive profit of the ruling class. Such exploitation is enabled by collusion between the state and favored economic monopolies, in which the profit, derived from the private exploitation of public lands, is private property, while the debts incurred thereby are the financial responsibility of the public treasury. Such an imbalanced economy remains limited by the uneven economic development of town and country, and usually reduces the national currency into devalued banknotes (paper money), rendering the country ineligible for international development credit.[

I also consider that they see their way of life, and I think you have to call it their culture, vanish forever. I don’t think they even perceived this would happen in their lifetime. America, the melting pot, is changing, and it’s completely beyond their control, and they feel the power shifting, which must be scary for them, hence their behaviour. Ironically if this was 150 years ago, they would be firing the arrows.

    Being sick of both parties and not being able to tell the difference between the two parties are typically the same thing when it comes to independent voters. Maybe one in a million actually doesn't know the stated differences between Republicans and Democrats, but claiming there was this time of political ignorance that didn't have the parties' ideas of themselves shoved down America's throat is just, well uninformed. As a Libertarian leaning Independent myself, I voted for Hillary in '16 to prevent Trump and I'll vote Democrat in November to prevent the firing of Robert Mueller and to prevent the destruction of Obamacare's remains. Hopefully by 2020 we will see a greater push to elect Independent politicians. Here's looking at you Mr. Sanders.

    The idea that independent voters usually say there is no difference to the parties is an oversimplification. It's true that we will often say that it will make no difference who you vote for, but that does not mean we do not recognize the difference in the parties. The point is that just because you are voting for a "lesser" evil does not mean it is not an evil. That is what we mean when we say it makes no difference. Evil, whether slightly lesser or slightly greater, is still evil. Voting for the lesser of two evils got us Trump. If we continue to vote for the lesser of two evils, we will get another Trump, and another one, and another one. Vote what you believe is best, but do not assume that we are "uneducated in politics" simply because we are voting based on a different set of values.

    • @peach495

      Yes but the two parties represent very different things and it doesnt change. So unless you change yor mind about everything you believe in every couple of years, you wont really be a "swing" voter. Youll vote with the same party that agrees with your agenda. Yes, everyone votes for who they think is best. But an indicator of who a voter will think is better is who is on your side and want to see the same things happen.
      You should be an independant chooser any time you need a condiment for your sandwich. But if youre allergic to mayo and love mustard you probably wont pick the mayo for the sake of being an independant condiment chooser.

Calling the assylum seekers Criminals is just sad and the fact that Trump's base believe that rhetoric is even more pathetic. Every country on Earth has immigration laws and it's 100% okay to want to strengthen them, but what happens when there is an humanitarian Crisis? It's completely Unethical to not help as much as we can. I say the Americans should vote on this issue since some people want to make it political, but the people must be educated about the truth first.
