I hate social media, just a bunch of antisocial people who post negative nasty comments. RIP Steve 🙏. We started our own garden this year, it's great to go and pick and cook your own meals from your own garden, saves a bunch and it's all organic😋
I felt compelled to comment on that facebook post at the time. Horrible stuff, and it really brings home the negative side of social media. Often people wield their opinions without realising just how devastatingly it can affect others. Or they do know, and that is the intent. The good thing, as you will know, things move on quickly and it will mostly be forgotten about. I watched the subsequent videos and wondered if you would say anything, but they were recorded prior to it. You covered it well here, addressed it, but did not dwell on it. No prices for the veg.....how much do the tomatoes cost? I was really hoping you would eat one raw and give your verdict. Ive tried growing tomatoes a few times over the years, but always end up with white flies and then tis just so much hassle. My mum was great at gardening, so grew up with delicious veg yanked out the garden when needed. I tend to find most fruit and veg is a bit rubbish these days. Even though markets are cheap, often the quality of produce is dire. Ive had loads of tomatoes and they had virtually no taste at all.
Thanks for watching and the comment; there will be an update in the future, as and when. The whole box of veg cost us 11euro- not sure how much each were. They usually do a veg box delivered for 18euro (you don't get to choose what's in it, it's what's been harvested that week)- we will cover a month's worth of the boxes etc, starting in October, we think. We've bought some "fancy" tomatoes from supermarkets and markets and have been disappointed. Best ones we tend to get are either on the vine, or Bobs home grown...
Having met Andy and Katie at the May meet and greet I ordered one of their boxes and some eggs which lasted the remaining 10 days of our trip. It's just a bit pot luck what is in season but we will order again in October. We also try to avoid vegetables and fruit that are wrapped in cling film and washed in who knows what. Social Media unfortunately gives a one sided perspective much like the tomato.
We saw the FB stuff you mentioned and even with your explanaton it doesn't stop the stupid haters. A shame you can't get rid of the bad apple! We both enjoyed the cooking tonight and hope to meet up at some point, Mick and Cath. P.S. Does Bob want any seeds bringing over (or Hendersons Relish)?
Thanks for the kind words, comment and watching. Bobs good for seeds, Helen got a 1 litre bottle of hendos not opened yet 🤣 hopefully see you next trip 👍
Great video. Love watching what Helen's making. Such a great cook. Would lobed to have seen the Beef Stifado at the end. Totally missed what was going on with social media. Some people just love to be nasty.
Thanks! We've a few videos of late with Helen cooking (that's usually what we're doing when we go live) usual for us forgetting to film the finished article- usually too busy wanting to eat it 😀
Great veg from mountain view farm, it doesn't need to be visually perfect.
100%! It tasted fantastic 🍅

Not many people watch mainstream legacy media anymore. Stopped paying my licence fee in 2020. Never looked back!
Some of us tend to watch on here instead now 😆 thanks for watching and the comment 👍
Try Rabo Del Torro it's sublime
We love it; not had any at home- not as cheap to buy now as it used to be.. thanks for watching 👍
