    as a native speaker, this video is just right in pronunciation and speed. if it's too fast for your liking, it's best if you slow it down, it helps.

      Keep it up! I'm also terrible, and I've been to the Philippines twice, but the best way to learn a language is just keep at it consistently. We got this.

      I have a Filipina girlfriend and I want to learn tagalog because it's her native language and just to be able to communicate with her in the language. Her English is decent, some words here and there are off but I understand what she's saying. It surprised me when she told me she can speak her language, English and Mandarin. I need to step my language learning game up 😆.

    I like it at normal speed, but when the English is added, be good to have a little more time to read it to try and get it in my brain!

    You can try to playback 0.75 speed if it's too fast, but truthfully that is the normal speed.

    Is this everyday language? In another video I heard that „mawalang galang lang“ is often not used anymore because it sounds old fashioned

      As a Filipino, yes, it is not often used but when you want to speak or interrupt an elderly, use that.
      "Mawalang galang lang po, nasaan po ang cr?" (Cr means comfort room )

    You speak too fast even for a regular Tagalog speaker. I like how it sounds like normal conversation. But slower would be better. ;-)

    • @Kwelinzito
      @Kwelinzito 5 лет назад +6

      I am not a native speaker of Tagalog. I slowed down the speed on the settings to 0.75, using my laptop. That made it much better for me. Try it.

    • @ja4309
      @ja4309 4 года назад +2

      That is actually the normal speed. When it comes to conjugating verbs tho, there should be a stress on the affix so it may sound like rapping

    • @adamandtinafelibrico4572
      @adamandtinafelibrico4572 3 года назад

      I went into the playback settings and adjusted it to 0.75x and I actually can understand them better. I'm realizing I was just spacing out because I couldn't catch anything but now this is doable.

      not only that. We neve talk like this in a "real" conversation. Like , Ano ang plano mo sa tag-init? What? Taginit? It's like you are telling a joke or you want to be a little different. We now usually say, anong plano sa summer not any more tag-init.

    If you could add the meaning of the words it would be very helpful
    In the first sentence, gusto ko sanang....istanteng iyon, sanang & istanteng couldn't be understood even in a translator the meanings don't come up

    • @ardenshackelford7807
      @ardenshackelford7807 5 лет назад +3

      If it helps, sanang is sana with the ng tacked onto it. sana is the "like" part of the sentence. istanteng is istante with ng attached to it.

    Instead of saying lalangoy ginamit ang mag-siswimming. Modern tagalog sounds Taglish na.

    • @icesummer1725

    • @strahnbrad3979
      @strahnbrad3979 4 года назад +3

      I am a native speaker of Filipino and I can say that this is actually the normal pace of conversation for us. It's normal for a foreigner to think that way to any language they don't understand. Once you get the hang of it, it won't sound too "fast" anymore. My tip is to focus on keywords in the conversation

  • @sophiacassandra

      actually ginagamit pa rin yan, nasa syudad ka ata kaya di mo na naririnig mga yan. Mostly maririnig mo pa rin yan kapag nasa mga katagalugan na area talaga like calabarzon which is dun talaga ang mga tagalog na tagalog.
