  • When I get into something, I tend to obsess pretty hard, so when I set out to find the best men’s pants for #onebag packing I really went all in. I was done with jeans, disappointed in the performance of other “tech” pants that I’d tried, and I wanted something that I could wear for weeks on end without thinking about what I was going to do that day. I wanted a pair of pants that I could wear in an office or hiking, something that would be comfortable to live in while traveling or just hanging out at home.
After spending several weeks testing these, I can say they’re the best (at least for me) do-it-all pants on the market.
But I was also disappointed in other people’s reviews of these pants. I felt like most reviewers didn’t wear them hard, the way I planned to. So I made this video to show you guys that you don’t have to baby these pants just because they’re expensive. While I didn’t abuse them, I wore them (and, at the end, washed them) the way I would if I were on an extended trip.
Thanks for watching, and I hope this video helps you pack better for long-term travel. If you liked this video, give us a thumbs up and subscribe to our channel. We upload a new video every Monday, and we really appreciate your support!

Outlier Slim Dungarees can be purchased through their website: shop.outlier.n.... Note that in this video I’m wearing the Bluetint Gray color, but I also have a pair of charcoal. If Outlier is out of stock in your size/preferred color just be patient-they restock fairly frequently. And, just to be clear, this post isn’t sponsored in any way. I spent my own money on these pants (and swallowed hard at the price tag when I added them to my shopping cart) and I’m recommending them to you the same way I’ve recommended them to my friends in real life. (Davis, I hope you’re enjoying your pair.)
    🏔
To help you make your decision, here’s a list of other options I tried that didn’t work out:
Outlier Strong Dungarees - I almost went with these but thought they would be too heavy in hot environments (tropical, desert). Plus they don’t feel quite as comfortable or fit as well as the Slim Dungarees. Worth a try if you don’t like the Slims though.
Western Rise AT Slim - way too tight on my #thiccthighs. Might work for dudes that don’t lift.
Western Rise Evolution - comfortable, but super thin, I would only wear them in tropical environments. I also feel like the fabric would tear easily.
Lululemon ABC - look nice, but hold onto odor really terribly. Can’t recommended them for extended travel because you can’t get more than a day wearing them without a wash.
Prana Brion - they wear out fast, and don’t fit nearly as well as the Outliers. I still have a couple pairs of them, but I’ll only wear them for hiking trips. Wouldn’t travel in them, they simply aren’t versatile enough for me. Probably the best budget option though.

Thanks! Just trying to keep it real - I've found too many reviews seem like more advertisements. At least here you know I spent my own money on the product and gave an honest assessment.
The color shown is Bluetint Gray. I have a second pair in Charcoal that I also really like. Between the two it's hard for me to pick a favorite, I just alternate wearing them every other day.

appreciate the review. i'm a 32" waist and got 24" quads (thickest part) was always curious if this would be comfortable with ppl with thiccthighs especially since it has the word "slim" in the name.

I've been really happy with the fit in the thighs. Not constrictive at all, but also not baggy like lots of pants designed for people with "athletic" bodies. With the Outlier return policy, it's super easy to try them out and get 100% of your money back if you end up not liking them. Thanks for watching.

To add on, I faced the same dilemma as you before committing to the purchase of my charcoal sz 33 SDs. Also w 24 inch around upper thighs. Size 33 fits me well (YMMV depending on how tight you like your pants to fit in the legs tho)
Also sized 33 in Outlier's thicker offering, the Strong Dungarees. I actually prefer the fit and the fabric of that but it isn't as temperature versatile as the SDs, as theyre thicker. Hope that helps.

FINALLY the review I was waiting for, thank you. Do you think they fit true to size? I am between 31 and 32 size, always use a belt anyways. I'm not sure which size I should order. I'm outside US so returning it would not be a viable option. If you could do a review of the outlier ultrafine t-shirt in similar travel conditions that would also be awesome. :D

    • @kiraandrew959
      @kiraandrew959  4 года назад +1

I think they fit pretty true to size. I'm roughly the same size as you, generally between 30-32 waist depending on brand. I measured my waist and ordered size 31 slim dungarees using the outlier sizing chart and they fit perfectly, just as they're described on the outlier website. To confirm your size, measure the top opening on your best-fitting pair of pants and use that as a guide. All of the info on that is also on the slim dungaree's sizing tab.
An ultrafine merino t-shirt review might be in the works in the near future. I still need to put mine through the paces a little bit more before I can recommend it for the price, but stayed tuned to the channel and check out our website for more content like this. Thanks!

That would be a bargain for me. I live in Europe the shipping alone is 130 usd plus unknown tax… almost settled on the Lulus. But this video almost convinces me. Question for you, how is the durability, quality on the lulus? I read they were better in the past.

I usually travel with two pairs. That way I can alternate days and have one pair to wear while the others are in the laundry. But you could probably get by with just one pair for short trips. If there's interest I can put together a video of how I pack for extended trips sometime in the next couple weeks. Thanks for watching!
