I like the lineup with Soler in it. This lineup also is built with speed from Bader through Lindor. Will it happen? we don't know what way Stearns will steer the ship. We will see. I'm sure they see how Soler can impact the team. I'm also sure they're examining how impactful it can be without adding Soler or another DH like Turner or Martinez.
I'm down with seeing how Vientos can do in the DH and also to see what Stewart can do. Whatever is the best way to go for the team. That's what they need to do. I'm imagining that they are looking to get Soler to take a shorter deal and they're waiting to see what other teams will give him. I think it'll come down to what happens after teams have put their offers on the table. If Soler wants more years he will probably wait for a team to give him the extension that he wants.
If he doesn't get it then he will go-to the Mets if the Mets are trying to give him 1 or 2 years with options perhaps. Or maybe the Mets "are" willing to give him 3 years and are waiting to see what they'll have to bid to get him for 3 years. Ofcoarse I or no one is sure. What I want above all is for Stearns to give the team a true number 2 starting pitcher or another ace; and a powerful lefty to add to the bullpen.
They're being real careful with each move they make. They're monitoring how other players will be impacted by any signings or trades. I get the sense that they believe in Vientos and Stewart, and they'd like to give them a full season to see what they can do. I know they also see potential DH's in other players. Marte could end up DH'ing at some point and Gilbert might get the call up. This year could be alot more interesting than last year.
Would I like Soler, yes. Am I also ready to see what happens without him? Yes, because I also like to give these unproven players a true shot. What if Vientos for example, is left alone at the DH spot this season and hits 30 bombs? Then they would know that not signing Soler was a good move to say the least.
So it's not that easy of a decision to make but they will make one soon. But I hold confidence that if they so happen not to choose to sign Soler or a proven DH hitter, that the offense will be good and that Vientos is still holding on to alot of potential. Stewart is another one who can still end up making a big impact. If he was given the DH gig, he could end up smacking 30 home runs.
I want what's best for the team especially for their future which is looking bright with these prospects they have now.

Alvarez is going to keep getting better and you gotta be thinking that Baty is not going to remain the same. He's going to catch fire and become that player he can be. I'm confident they will have enough lumbar whether or not they choose to add another proven bat. This is why I like that they are more focused on adding relief pitching. And hopefully they choose to give the team a true number 2 starter or another ace caliber starter to put there to compliment Senga and to give the team a strong 1-2 punch.

The Mets will show interest, but won’t get him.
