Admit you know nothing about how to build a winning football team, and are looking to bring in a talented general manager and give that dude the keys to the car, and then you just become a fan with a really awesome seat. Promise the GM 5 full years, minimum, to build the team in his image with full support and zero meddling. Why do you do all of this? Because otherwise no GM candidate with any choices is going to be willing to take the job.
