Love your idea and your technique. Is there an easy way to tell if a border make a cartridge is going to be a knock out or an edge before you start cutting

Turn your BMCs upside down and look at the bottom side. If it's an edge style, the pattern will be right on the edge of the metal. If it's a knock-out style, there will be a straight portion of metal after the design. If it's a chain style, there will not be a metal portion before or after the pattern.
