  • A little mini review of the Umpqua overlook 500 chest pack that I love so dearly and what I carry with me for a day on the water.

Loved it WNC! Thanks I was wondering if that pack worked out well or not. Just wish it had a rod holder for deep tie ups. Keep em tight👌🇺🇸

Great video! In the beginning of your video you mentioned a gear keeper, can you share information on it. I just bought an Umpqua pack and I like the idea you have for your gear keeper on the back of your pack. Thanks, and good fishing!!!

Yeah, it's just a heavy duty retractor that I clipped in the little loop on the back of the chest pack. If you just search for "gear keep retractor" you'll find it. They are about 30 bucks, but well worth it.

What do you put in the back part of the pack and are you using the small or large version of the back portion?
    Thanks

Where in NC do you hail from ? I lived in Boone, NC for 15 years and loved it! Use to fly fish the small creeks and Watauga river at times off Hwy. 105. Good Luck Dude!

Alexander Kipperman I don't carry any. Less time spent drinking and pissing = more hookups. Lol when I think I need water I normally just pop a smoke in my lips and reach for my lighter

What's a good online retailer that I can buy all this stuff on?

Check out our online store. It's: shop (dot) wncfishing (dot) com. I think this pack is out of stock right now, but it should be back in stock by next Monday.

What landing net do you recommend?

I don't have any brands in particular I like more than the other but I definitely prefer a rubber "catch and release" net over your standard cloth net just because you don't have to fight with it for 5 minutes trying to get hooks out of them. As far as the size it just depends on where I'm fishing. I have several depending if I'm guiding or fishing myself and what type of water I'm fishing in. Just make sure you don't go too small, much better to have a net that is too big than too small.
