If a lazy homeless bum hits the powerball lottery, are they better at making money than a doctor making 350k a year?? NO!! THEY GOT LUCKY. It happens, luck and variance has a great deal to do with gambling.
Rob here, I will defend Johnny on this. Of course variance exists but there are so many edges that exist in this market nowadays that it should be practically impossible to have a losing year.
