    Check out the updated 86t video on this channel if you haven't already, at this point this video is pretty obsolete but youtube keeps pushing it for some reason. ruclips.net/video/LgZKs7M5fiM/видео.html

    this is the best akina map i've seen so far, played it a bit and it's legit more difficult due to being actually bumpy and uneven like the real life counterpart.
    driving feels almost a bit sketchy and it's fun.

    Incredible driving. I think i can squuze down to 44-43 if i keep grinding. We will see... And thank you again for all the advice that you gave me, it helped me a lot.

    Thank you for sharing your setup and config, as well as the run, I was hoping to learn from fast people as I am incapable of improving on my own

    • @thiccdaddycool4186
      @thiccdaddycool4186  2 года назад +3

      I hope you enjoyed the run and that its been helpful to you; everyone is capable of improving on their own even a little bit - otherwise you wouldn't benefit from other's help anyway. Even if its just little by little every run contributes to your pace in some shape or form even if its not obvious in the beginning.

    I think getting under 4:50 is a fast time on this map. How do you feel about the bumpiness of this track compared to the EK tracks?

    • @thiccdaddycool4186
      @thiccdaddycool4186  2 года назад +6

      I'd aim for a slightly lower (around 48-46) pace to consider it "good" especially in the 86t, R34 and Supra. Compared to EK akina this is a much more believable road and the bumps add an element of complexity while taking the same lines people have been doing for years at this point, maybe it's not necessarily as easy as it used to be to pick up and learn like EK Akina was, but in my opinion it is a much more satisfying map to improve on.

      @@thiccdaddycool4186 I’ve been grinding the 86 drift and I’ve been messing around with setup a lot to try and keep the rear more stable on this super bumpy track so I can put more power to the ground. So far, I’ve gotten a 5 flat after changing rear rebound to 0, front camber to -.6, and brake bias to 60%. I know the 86d and 86t are pretty different, but I’m starting to get satisfied with the performance of the 86 and I wanna start bringing down the times much as possible. Any more setup tips for keeping the car composed on this bumpy surface?

    • @thiccdaddycool4186
      @thiccdaddycool4186  2 года назад +1

      @@inaNis_ try to adjust both rebound and bump dampening, raising the suspension a little would also help the car iron the bumps out more, just make sure to observe how it affects under/oversteering, as grip at the apex is likely to suffer after these changes in which case you can adjust the diff power lower/higher. I also generally recommend trying the shortest gear ratio you can use due to the shape of the hairpins it can be hard to stay in the powerband in second gear.

    • @inaNis_
      @inaNis_ 2 года назад

      @@thiccdaddycool4186 I have the gear ratio set to 10/50 rn which is the shortest set; I've had that for a while. I tried softening the rear to the lowest setting which I believe is 65 n/m, which seems to help the car's stability and prevent it from slipping into oversteer on longer corners such as the first and second corners. My diff power is also at 30%, but I'm not sure what that actually changed and I don't know if I felt the difference or not

    • @thiccdaddycool4186
      @thiccdaddycool4186  2 года назад +1

      @@inaNis_ Higher diff power pushes the rear end more on throttle, making oversteer easier/more likely, but it can also improve cornering speeds by proxy if your diff power was too low before and causing understeer

    Hey, saw that you're first with nd on this new akina with a time of 04:49.885
    What do you think is the best achievable time and would you upload an mx5 run?

    • @thiccdaddycool4186
      @thiccdaddycool4186  2 года назад +1

      If we consider that the gt86 is reasonably capable of 51, in the short term I see a 48 being done at some point. Unfortunately I didn't save the replay of that specific run but if I do revisit the combo I think it'll be worth recording (especially if 48 or below is reached) either way I'll only consider uploading it if I do decide to upload runs with different cars, priority being on the more popular cars like the FD, R34, 86T, MK4 Supra etc.

      while its true that grip is faster than drift, slip is faster than grip. slipping and drifting is not the same thing, but combining grip driving with slip angle in the appropriate corners is the absolute fastest way to drive touges.

      Trailbraking and tapping handbrake. On this video the sliding is way more forced so in this case it's mostly due to braking extremely late and maintaining (too much) momentum

    Are you not heel and toeing on all corners?

    • @thiccdaddycool4186
      @thiccdaddycool4186  2 года назад

      Downshifting earlier on wider corners can be beneficial for keeping revs up high - but this also highly depends on your driving style, if you heel and toe every corner already, keep doing so already as this is more of a habitual difference.

    • @thiccdaddycool4186
      @thiccdaddycool4186  2 года назад

      Furthermore, if you're not anticipating a reaction from the chassis or your car is not set up to facilitate doing so, it can result in severe oversteer/understeer on or before entry
