- HRIM (pronounced Hreem)
Hrim is a seed sound that dispels illusion in which we are
all trapped . This illusion of Life is commonly known as " Maha Maya " ,
or just " Maya " ( " A Dream state ") . the veil of creation ...
It is said that meditation on this seed sound will lift this veil and will
give the meditator a glimpse of the Universe as it is
and not as it appears to us ordinary human beings.
The 300 names are more powerful by 10 million than her 1000 names.
The Goddess says in the Devi Gita that Hrim is Her most favorite.
Hrim is an even more compact expression of Her Wholeness.
Hrim is the perfection of the
gross, subtle
and causal, the perfection of the 3. Om and Hrim are Shiva and Shakti -- Pure
Undifferentiated Consciousness and the Infinite Creation.

In Vedic terms HRIM is a mantra of the Sun, particularly in terms of illumination. It increases our aspiration and receptivity to Divine light, wisdom and truth. mantra is a vibration so it must be pure. background music will make it impure.

So it is actually pronounced, "HEY-RIM" or is "HEY-RMM" closer? Actually, this is a serious question. For 2009 I want to meditate daily--I learned a Mantra from TM many years ago (back when it was cheap!)--and am thinking of switching... listening to the tape it almost sounds like, "HEY-UM" sometimes... which of these is the closest?

i think you should change the visuals... i think its going to freak out Western Christians who have no idea of Hinduism and think of it as akin to "devil workship"--i think just a visual of the syllable should be enough, this is too much drama...

Thanks for sharing. The Shreem mantra is almost identical to this mantra, are they connected in meaning? This one is a bit different in pronounciation, how can one be sure about the right one? And how many times would it be recommended to chant for notable effect?
It sounds like Haim,there's no r sound heard in it.
Just about the video: If there is blinking, the third eye must also blink.
