Somebody has to say it. The voice is not that great. It often comes out of the song pitch. It's a bit disappointing with respect to the studio song track. However the sound quality is excellent. Some people might say, who cares? The ointing he drives, is all that matters. That's another issue.
Any piece of art has to address the three dimensions of the human being. The body through the melody, the quality of the sound (instruments and voices). The soul through the lyrics and the spirit through the anointing it drives. All these elements are interconnected. For example it's very difficult to be blessed by song which is poorly executed even if the singer is heavily anointed. However, the appreciation of beauty depends also on the level of instruction in the domain. Somebody may not be blessed by a song simply because he or she notices some imperfections in it while other are blessed at the same time. You might notice from other comments that his voice is incredible. That's their appreciation and there's nothing to say about it. But for me, it's not that great and that's my own appreciation. If I could have the opportunity to say something to him I will encourage him to perfect his voice. This still to the glory of God. It's not by mistake that David chose experts in singing to lead praise and worship in the temple.
