she had a scarily committed mom, and she was home-schooled and had a personal coach ;) sooo, not all that surprising, but of course she is extremely talented :)
I always love watching Miko. Normally I hate Lollipop as well but Miko's performance is a great interplay of control and relaxation. I know nothing about dance but I suspect this sort of lyrical dance is considered a milestone.
There is no 'ideal age', as it's not a one-size-fits-all situation. The choice of whether to begin point depends on ankle strength, back strength, turnout and general technique.
what i love on her is that she is an original ballerina not like other girls who are doing gymnastics..and many more things to get helped for ballet.. she is original and that's makes her different!:D
I really don't know what to think about these competitions for kids... for miko it might have been ok, because she has outstanding talent, but in general I think the idea of ballet as an art form and dance in general gets lost.
I know this comment was from 4 years ago but i decided to reply. Young ballet dancers normally do competitions to be seen by ballet company's giving them a better chance to get into one. Also yagp offers master classes to take. Just some info as to why they do it. Hope i dont come off as rude.
wow what a talented 10 year old, imagine what she'll be like at 18! Her artistry will come in time as she's still so young but I'm sure she'll make an incredible ballerina.
You understand this child is ten right. TEN. I have never seen a ten year old do any kind of thing at that level. Of course now she's seventeen and still amazing, though honestly I think she was more impressive as a child, because her innate sense of grace, style, and poise lacking in most very young dancers. Now she is comparable with many other magnificent dancers of her age.
But her feet are still developing... She looks amazing so I hope it doesn't affect her in the future. I just think it's dangerous to go en pointe before like 12 years old.
I started pointe when I was 11 and started performing a year later when I was 12. Now I have a solo from don Quixote the Katrina variation and I'm gonna turn 13 in one month
Xoballet her mom took care of her feet to developed. :) she was already mature, hardworking, patient and simple girl. :D have you see her right now? she's already big girl and join a lot of competitions, gala etc.
She is not too young for pointe. Teachers check the strength of dancers ankles through proper technique classes their muscles and tendons are strong enough for them to receive pointe shoes around ages 9 and 10. For those that don't know, before you advance to pointe you have to take ballet class at least twice a week. After receiving pointe shoes you take ballet/pointe classes three to four times a week.
I’m 11 and I got en pointe when I was 10, so I’ve been en pointe for like 10 months now , and for the entire school year all we did was basic two foot releves. I switched studios and now we do hops and I just got my single pirouettes two weeks ago, idk how she does it
Some people like hate on lollipop but in YAGP when you get to a certain age you need to have comtemporary and ballet and the same for IBC well rounded dancers are the best
Her first to variations were amazing but I only have one issue and its that she is physically to young to start pointe at 10 years old because her feet haven't stopped developing yet and if they aren't fully developed then it's easier to get injured in pointe shoes at a young age. 13 is the best age to get pointe shoes if you have been dancing for a really long time because your feet are fully developed and you have enough strength in your feet. There were times during the first two variations where she didn't seem to have very strong feet so I would just recommend her to do more strengthening exercises for her feet. I disliked lollipop so much I thought it was sloppy tbh but that's just not my taste so ya.
people im ten and i have pointe and stop saying to young because its different for different people so people if i see another comment that says to young i will report
I think if your feet are strong is not dangerous to do pointe under 12 years. I start practicing at 8 and start performing at 9, now i have 12 and i have a Sleeping Beauty variation and i have a classmate that start pointe at 7 years and now she have 9 and she perform Colombina from Nutcraker and a variation fron The Sílfide.
WSPA with me!!!!! She's my friend.... She is so nice, pretty talented, flexable and talented....she's 13 now....she is nice....I sometimes do technique with her and other friends!!!!!!!
It is actually quite dangerous because your feet are still developing at the time , and you can harm your feet and injure yourself because your feet don't have enough strength. However, I'm not one to argue with you considering that I started when I was 9... but we started very slowly, staying on both feet and next to a barre. However, I am now 11 and doing double pirouettes (from 4th) en pointe.
i'm guessing you're referring to the bluebird variation... noooo... this variation is danced during the wedding on princess aurora and her prince in the 3rd act of sleeping beauty. the coppelia music is different and the corn dance is a pas de deux. i can see why you could think that though because she is motioning with her hands that she is listening. however, princess florentine (who is miko in this dance) is listening for her bluebird :)
Brynn and Kalani train at Club Dance, not ALDC. They are only there for the show. And Club Dance is an incredible dance studio. They produce the most technical and flexible young dancers. And as for the other girls, yeah I think they should change studios because they have potential.
Sue Daniel of course you can! don't let your age get you down! adam sklute, the artistic director of ballet west academy, started dancing at the age of 17! just work really hard, and you'll be great!
I went en pointe for the first time when I was 10... I don't understand how she is so good, this is amazing!
she had a scarily committed mom, and she was home-schooled and had a personal coach ;) sooo, not all that surprising, but of course she is extremely talented :)
Ya
She's so talented, beautiful and just spectacular to watch. Definitely one of my favourite to watch!
I always love watching Miko. Normally I hate Lollipop as well but Miko's performance is a great interplay of control and relaxation. I know nothing about dance but I suspect this sort of lyrical dance is considered a milestone.
Her bluebird dance is so artistically mature that you forget she was ten at the time.
She was in "First Position" 3 Love her!!
ive been up all night watching and learning this bluebird variation x
Lollipop is my favorite dance ever done by Miko!
The lollipop dance is soo adorable ! 😁
You are fantastic. Your costume is gorrrgeous. Excellently done.
poise far beyond her years...
Because she was young at the time, she wasn’t very on her box, but she is one of the most beautiful dancers I have ever seen!
She is absolutely lovely
I love that bluebird variation.
this definitely does not help with my self esteem😭😂
Lol… you are so right
Hey I like your Dan and Phil edits
bellaballerina Self esteem? What does that mean? Psychology?
bellaballerina I’m still worse than her when I’m 12
Like why am I watching this...
She's Amazing *-*
SHE IS MY ALTIME FAV DANCER
I'm a dancer too and she is my inspiration
Same!
The teacher taught the whole class bluebird my second year of point and it was so fun
delightful performances from Miko and so mature.
SHES ONLY 10 !? oh my lord. shes so good :'(
her at 10: on pointe and having a solo
me at 10: struggling to make my toes not hurt XD
Well, she is studying medicine now, but you still have your future ahead of you. Being better at 18 is more important than being better at 10.
Me at 10: not en pointe yet 😂😂
I’m en pointe now though haha
OMG I looooove this girl! She's freaking stunning!
I loved that dance too! It was so fun and young!
she looks soooo cute because I was just watching videos of when she was older and she looks sooooo cute!!!! she is soooooo stunning
miko your amazing
A ballerina who starts pointe under 12 and if she can, she is a *genius* Miko and Katia are good examples for it😊😊😊
I'm so jealous of you!!! I'm 12 and I just started pointe a few weeks ago
Emma Rose well thats 5 years ago
I was 16 until I got my pointe shoes soooo....
Cute and amazing!
when she was 10 she was sooooooo sweet :`-)
She's sooo cute -and her technique is AMAZING!!
Lollipop is so adorable!!!!!!
she looks so adorable here!
I guess every dancer loves contemporary at one pointe, not just me and my ballet school
True! :DD
Beautiful! And just 10 and not her full height. Very talented.
とっても綺麗😍
delightul, having fun and talented!
It looks beautiful but she is TEN YEARS OLD! The earliest age to START pointe work is actually ten or eleven years, preferably eleven or twelve!
In Russia it's completely different they I courage young dancers at the age of 6-7 to start pointe bc it strengthens your feet well
*encourage
Dalia Blackman Are you sure? Ive had russian teachers and they said it was age 10..
There is no 'ideal age', as it's not a one-size-fits-all situation. The choice of whether to begin point depends on ankle strength, back strength, turnout and general technique.
I started fuatte(don't know how to spell) turns when I was ten. Come to think about it, it is a miracle that my feet didn't get injured
... JUST AMAZING
what i love on her is that she is an original ballerina not like other girls who are doing gymnastics..and many more things to get helped for ballet.. she is original and that's makes her different!:D
Какая же прелесть :)
beatyful!!
I really don't know what to think about these competitions for kids... for miko it might have been ok, because she has outstanding talent, but in general I think the idea of ballet as an art form and dance in general gets lost.
cjrie 😍😘😗😙😚
I disagree with you...
cjrie But I think she looks sooooo cute on pointe😍😍😍😍💚💖💜💛❤️💙

I agree, but only if all the dancer does are competitions. Obviously, yagp and comps like that are amazing opportunities.
すごい❗
such a pretty costume
Гениально!!!!!
wow what a talented 10 year old, imagine what she'll be like at 18! Her artistry will come in time as she's still so young but I'm sure she'll make an incredible ballerina.
מהמם עושה טוב לנשמה
Uh, shes only bronze medalist?
Ashiepoo Tater Tots damn they must be scrict
@@Sweetface-be3eh they are
she is so good and she is cute...
Very beautiful for a ten year old, this dance is very advanced for much older girls.
the Kitri tutu is beautiful! I wonder who made that!
So cute~
beatyfull

Awesome.
Watch her Sugar Plum variation. It's AMAZING.
10 лет? и так танцует!!! фантастический ребенок
On pointe at 10 wow i got my pointe shoes when i was 12!
But her feet are still developing... She looks amazing so I hope it doesn't affect her in the future. I just think it's dangerous to go en pointe before like 12 years old.

+Sarah Ben *kitri
that was 2008. u shud see her now. :)
Its dangerous to go on pointe before 9
Xoballet her mom took care of her feet to developed. :) she was already mature, hardworking, patient and simple girl. :D have you see her right now? she's already big girl and join a lot of competitions, gala etc.
wow shes amazing for a 10 yr old!
Very pretty.

Ballet
She did the same bluebird variation that i'm doing now and i'm ten! Miko Forgarty is amazing and so cute!
Wow! Pointes at 10! :)
For the bluebird variation
I’m 11 and I got en pointe when I was 10, so I’ve been en pointe for like 10 months now , and for the entire school year all we did was basic two foot releves. I switched studios and now we do hops and I just got my single pirouettes two weeks ago, idk how she does it
Was not expecting lollipop...
Some people like hate on lollipop but in YAGP when you get to a certain age you need to have comtemporary and ballet and the same for IBC well rounded dancers are the best
Well, that depends on what your goal is...
Being a versatile dancer, is EXTREMELY important!
I didn't even know what pointe shoes were at that age omg
Her first to variations were amazing but I only have one issue and its that she is physically to young to start pointe at 10 years old because her feet haven't stopped developing yet and if they aren't fully developed then it's easier to get injured in pointe shoes at a young age. 13 is the best age to get pointe shoes if you have been dancing for a really long time because your feet are fully developed and you have enough strength in your feet. I've been on pointe since 10 and I started dancing since 3. However I completely agree with you. I could have hurt myself.
In my ballet school we are just allowed to train on pointe when we turn twelve, no matter how hard we train
Same!
Well that's stupid because you might be able to go on pointe by the age of 10 or 11 and some kids might not even be ready at 12.
Those who are not ready at 12 aren't allowed to go on pointe, too.
One of the kids at my school went on pointe at 9 years because she's really good
Gostei muito da sua variacao do passaro azul
Does anyone know where she gets her gorgeous tutus from?
+Bunhead Network I read somewhere that it's handmade from a shop in japan, Ishida costume
if your looking for a place to buy one go to Patrica's dance wear.com she has a ton that she makes in bulk they are lovely
Hi Miko, when did u get ur first pair of pointe shoes???
Her at 10 years old : Kitri, Bluebird
Me at 10 years old : Dora the Explorer, Strawberry Shortcake
Me now : BTS, Blackpink
Jeez, how old was she when she first went on pointe?!
perfect
people im ten and i have pointe and stop saying to young because its different for different people so people if i see another comment that says to young i will report
too young

She doesn't look like she eats lollipops. XD
where is that costume from
there were obviously some flaws shes a MILLION times better that i was when i was 10
OMG!!!
i'm guessing you're referring to the bluebird variation...
noooo... this variation is danced during the wedding on princess aurora and her prince in the 3rd act of sleeping beauty. the coppelia music is different and the corn dance is a pas de deux. i can see why you could think that though because she is motioning with her hands that she is listening. however, princess florentine (who is miko in this dance) is listening for her bluebird :)
i started pointe at nine. Ballet at 1and1/2
She leaped like that at age 10!! I definantly could use some pointers...
like Bryn Maddie Nia Kalani and Mackenzie should train where she trains cause clearly it has more to offer dance wise
Brynn and Kalani train at Club Dance, not ALDC. They are only there for the show. And Club Dance is an incredible dance studio. They produce the most technical and flexible young dancers. And as for the other girls, yeah I think they should change studios because they have potential.
sasha rigby Miko takes private lessons
Does anyone notice the resemblance to Mao Asada?
wow!!! wait till hana sees this .-.
Aw 10. So little. Before first position
whoa
in lolipop are arms just fling around- lol but an amazing dancer!
Also I am going to perform at age 10.
I am performing it this Sunday. But not on pointe bcos I am ten
how did it go?
Tan Desmond け
10///????????????????????????????????!!!
I wonder if people can start at the age of 12 even if you can't do the splits yet
Sue Daniel You cant start ballet in a normal class, any age, and you don't have to know how to do the splits.
Sue Daniel of course you can! don't let your age get you down! adam sklute, the artistic director of ballet west academy, started dancing at the age of 17! just work really hard, and you'll be great!
i only started ballet at twelve and i have been very successful in the professional level studio I have been going to :)
Cool
Misty Copeland (a famous ballet dancer) did not start until she was 13.
