    I am loving the Mexico content. Making me very jealous. It was warm enough in Calgary this weekend that I almost unwrapped my Africa Twin for a ride, but it's back down to the negative teen temperatures now...

    I wanted to thank you for these awesome videos. You are good at this. They show the true spirit of adventure riding, just get out there and do it ! No waiting cos your riding buddy isn’t allowed out…. You know what your doing, good route choices show that your not just being a yahoo. Riding alone, but within your limits is a blast. I am an ex motocrosser, turned enduro rider (KTM exc 520) and now AT Adventure DCT, I just can’t imagine taking my AT where you take yours, dropping it in the Baja sand dunes was a classic uggghhh sigh, this‘ll be hard work situation . I’m 5‘11 175lbs and not sure what scares me most, the weight or the lack of a clutch to balance the bike in almost every tight situation! I find that the DCT doesn’t grab when you think it’s going to, it grabs when it wants, kinda spooky. Have you (or any of your viewers) tried both in some gnarly areas? Sadly, I have seen enough videos of people taking one through a puddle and saying, look mom off roading a DCT works just fine. What do you say.

      Thank you Mike! You sound well versed in off road bikes. I have not had the opportunity to ride a DCT, I'd like to though. From what I've heard they do well in technical uphill situations. The inability to put power down when you want would be annoying. If I meet someone with a DCT I'll do a thorough test of it!

    You are amazing on that Beast! I cannot imagine riding that territory. I've owned mine for 4 years, and am now 70. I bought a Transalp that is a bit more comforting, I can pick it up. But it is not the amazing machine that the Africa Twin is.

    • @thatguyonanafricatwin

      If you're picking up the transalp does that mean you've had it off road? If so how do you like it?

    Dude. I have a 2017 AT and they are usually only limited by the riders skill but you brough a knife to a gun fight! Unfortunately, I am usually riding fully loaded so a trail like that would be out of the question primarily due to width issues. Nice riding.

      Hey there...we went as far south as San Ignacio. Stopped in Guerrero Negro for a rainy day watching whales. Thought it would be more dry on the Cortez side but it was a muddy mess getting there thru the hills. Broke my moto 50mi south of San Felipe and hitched a ride out.

    • @DualSportGuy
      @DualSportGuy 7 месяцев назад +1

      Great love the TFT, with the adventure sport you get so much more. Cruise control, on the fly suspension adjustments, apple car play and android auto, adjustable windshield, tubeless tires. The DCT is awesome I’ve had no problems with it off-road, because you have manual mode to shift also.

    Love it looks like a blast down there . I'm also wondering about the suspension I have the exact same bike year color what not I ride pretty hard and would love to up grade the front forks to something better

    • @thatguyonanafricatwin
      @thatguyonanafricatwin  8 месяцев назад

      Hi Clayton, it is excellent, highly recommended. The forks are resprung for my weight with heavier fluid. Thats the cheap solution. You can also get new cartridges.
      The rear is an Ohlins shock set up for me. I found just a respring and revalve was not enough on the stock one. Cheers 🤙
