    One thing I like about using Helix Native for this is that I can record a lick, loop it, and tweak until it sounds how I want. If I try to play then tweak then play then tweak, I feel like sometimes I alter my playing to get the sound I EXPECT to hear.

      @Ric, I do the same thing but without Native, I always have a looper as 1st block in the chain so I can record a loop and change parameters one by one. I found it the best way to find the settings I liked most.

    You know Jason this makes me think it would sure be Awsome if Line 6 would add in/out VU's to the Helix and Stomp.

    This is a very nice approach to adding compression - saturated settings first so you can actually hear and see the compression, then dialing parameters back to fit the mix. Compression has always been that one effect that's baffled me over the years. Pun intended, there!

    Jason, I was wondering if all these slider based settings could have an option added for clock based positions, by ticking it for view preference. Being that other units such as the BOSS GT 1000, use clock based versus slider based. It is hard to see where the slider should be moved to or the clock when looking at the opposite type of interface you are trying to match all the effects from. I was hoping that by doing this it would be easier to recreate tones on the line 6 Helix from another unit. For example I want to convert all my tones from the BOSS EBAND JS-10 over to the Line 6 Helix. I have a Helix, and think this would be an option that would be a very great addition to this already great product.

    Can you discuss chicken picken compressor settings? I think I have the gist of it, but sometimes I forget how to dial it in.

      It'd be great to have some side-by-side comparisons using the same compressor with different settings. Transparent compression vs country quack vs funk spank and so on.

    10/150ms should be the attack and release time on the LA-2A :) But, with that bug you mention in the end, it looks like the release is set at ''never'' :D

    In the Pod Go, all the same settings for Deluxe Comp are available, however I don't see a gain reduction indicator. Is there an alternate tool for this so I can dial in the compression to my particular guitar (modified Dean Deceiver with replaced pickups (Fralin Modern PAF).

    The gain reduction doesn't show on my mac but does on the pedal screen. Is there something I have to change in the software to allow me to see this? thanks

      He’s in Helix Native, not HX Edit. That visual is not available in HX Edit sadly…

    Why aren't these meters contained in HX Edit? It seems these are essential to properly setting the compression.

    • @JasonSadites
      @JasonSadites  Год назад +1

      Yeah the meters are very useful if not crucial to setting the compressor properly. The problem is that HX Edit does not pass any audio, it is just an editor. So we are stuck having to look on the Helix unit itself.

      @@JasonSadites That's a valid reason, I guess LOL What is the little yellow meter on the Helix floor's screen showing? Is it input level, or the amount that your input signal is being reduced by? Thanks!

      @JasonSadites  Год назад +1

      @@ryanpjolley lol, yup 😃 The meter on the Helix is showing gain reduction that the compressor is applying.

    Hey Jason - How do you get the meters to display on HX Edit? I've searched all around and can't get them to display. I have v3.6 of helix firmware and HX edit.
