At their show in Russia (28.11.16) he told me that he had a conversation with sabian, probably about endorsement. I'm really fulfilled, hope this information about his current endorsements is true!
Saw them live about 3 weeks ago. Most definitely one of the best, cleanest, most energetic drummers ive ever seen live. His facial expressions were priceless.
Glad I've gotten the pleasure of watching them live twice.. Dude is a monster behind the set. Also, damn, can't get too much cleaner then that with doubles.
fuck yeah ! came home this evening and a new video from andrew in the sub box ! What better way to relax in the evening ! And also my favorite song from the new album !
I'm a guitarist but I watch drummer videos all the time and it is videos like these that sometimes make me wonder if I made the right decision to learn guitar instead of drums .
I thought it was a drum machine at first based on the last album's production but the new one sounds a lot more natural and you can really get a better sense of his style. He's one of the tops in the genre for the sure.
Inspirational as fuck, the tightness and even choice of beats with single pedal work sounds so good! The sections with the right hand alternating on the ride and China sounds DOPE.
first of all, unless there's some kind of camera anomaly, something weird is definitely going on with the kick drum....second, dude is good, don't compare apples and oranges though. if you just mean pure foot skill, then sure....and in that respect, dude is good but longstreth is phenomenal.
LegendaryStix andrew is actually doing doubles. not heel toe. either way, its doesnt matter how you get the speed as long as its comfortable, safe and consistent
dyculus I suspect triggers are making up for the lack of impact. It's pretty common. Run hot triggers way up in the mix so you barely need to tap the drum. That said, I don't think it's cheating per se.
Bruce Hewat Bruce Hewat hes definitely got the impact and the triggers. if anything something like this is harder with triggers because they pick up every mistake. his legs look calm because of a thing called technique and refinement haha
I have nothing agains using triggers, know it's common. It just seemed to me that he was playing 8notes instead of 32 in some parts when they showed his legs moving. That's how great his technique is :)
he plays 16th... double strokes look like 8ths on the legs but are actually 16th because you have two strokes per leg movement. 32nds at this speed would be ridiculous, if not impossible...
Can the cameras not register how fast he's going? Because it honestly just looks like he's just kind half-heartedly stepping on the pedal even though I know he uses heel-toe and stuff.
Yeah, the straight double bass parts are double-strokes, so you see the knee go down once, but the ankle flexes twice. The frame rate is probably 24 or 30 fps, so it's catching the knee, but you can't see the two strokes on the foot, making it look about half speed.
Fucking machine! Buit I don't know how he can stand having that china over his ride so loose like that. That would drive me crazy. Every time he strikes down on it, it's coming back up. I like mine tight as hell so it doesn't move.
I absolutely love this song but I just realized something... Maybe I just don't understand how drums work, but on 3:37 aren't his legs supposed to be moving A LOT faster than they are? Not dissing or anything, just asking. Thanks!
Wow. I've heard of the heel-toe technique only on Guitar Hero or Rock Band videos... Didn't think for a moment that it was an actual technique. Thank you!
@@krisman3 check out aaron stechauner , he uses the same technique, you see his knees move on like 16th notes but the ankles make it 32th notes rr ll on each knee
Greetings - My name is Jebuiz y'har. If my calculations are correct, you should be receiving this transmission in the year 2013 AD. It amuses me that you used to calculate your dates in relation to the life of an ancient man. You see, we have a slightly different timescale. But to make things simple, I am writing from the year 49,170 AD.
What I'm seeing actually? Have hardly any idea about drums - for example, what happens around 3:37, there seems to be much less leg movement than kick sounds. There seems to be a lot of informed discussion about technique here so I assume there's no fakery involved. Somebody help me comprehend this shit.
thanks. It looks really weird to untrained eye. Regardless of technique, great band, I'm really glad they tour far from home so I managed to see them twice.
While he is still a great drummer, I lost a lot of respect for him when I saw the triple pedal. It is possible to play that speed with just double kick drums.
The reason why I said that was because the overhead views show what looks like two heads on the right and one on the left, and when he plays really fast his right leg moves a lot slower (could just be low frame rate killing the recording) and when the kicks are shown his leg covers up the heads so you can't see if there is an additional one on the right. I have seen a setup like what I described for a triple pedal setup, and was going off that. If you guys know the vast universes of knowledge about this guy that I don't, then I apologize for hurting your feelings. I have been wrong before, and if I am here, then so be it.
What I gather what you see is each leg move gets two hits in close succession, it's just strung together super fluidly so you don't notice kicks are alternating such odd way. It's best visible from overhead camera. BTW I have a hunch this Andrew guy in this thread knows a thing or two about drums.
I love the fill from 0 - 4:20
X'D Hahahahaha
Gregory Foresi prog drumming baby
Makes me think of Blake Richardson from BTBAM lol.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
At least the fills here are used correctly-ahem Lars
It's wonderful to see and to hear Andrew with good cymbals
Nikita Makarov Took long enough right? You know if he's endorsed. Eh, fuck it I'll just Google it.
Sabian cymbal endorsee, los cabos drumsticks, and axis percussion are his current endorsements
At their show in Russia (28.11.16) he told me that he had a conversation with sabian, probably about endorsement.
I'm really fulfilled, hope this information about his current endorsements is true!
Nikita Makarov It is, you can check his instagram for further details.
Nikita Makarov
The fact that is guy is playing polyrythms , blast beats and death metal fills is absolutely mind blowing
The fact that they have a live singer for the female vocals really makes me want to see them, now.
only for 2 concerts in US, its a backing track for every other gig after :)
They are fucking amazing dude. I saw them with the black dahlia murder insane
Simp
He's a fucking beast! Every fucking Single note played just like on the record...fucking insane!
Yeah, very technically skilled. I noticed that he wears headphones every time he plays, probably listening to a metronome so he can keep in time.
of course its with a metronome^^ or else the samples would'nt be on point
Saw them live about 3 weeks ago. Most definitely one of the best, cleanest, most energetic drummers ive ever seen live. His facial expressions were priceless.
Doubles sound like Perfect single ! Bravo !
This dude is fucking inhuman. I don't think I've ever seen someone play live so flawlessly. jesus jackson
Dan Presland, definitely!
Glad I've gotten the pleasure of watching them live twice.. Dude is a monster behind the set. Also, damn, can't get too much cleaner then that with doubles.
His songs are drum solos
They sound amazing live. This guy is beast.
wtf so on point
Great mix, so organic. Perfect drumming, as always.
Fallujah rules. Would like to note that they are seriously one of the tightest bands I’ve ever seen live!
socks are metal af
Waggoner i need this socks too!
@@thommygun7449 You can find them at Men's Warehouse. You'll love the way they look, I guarantee it.
So sick they had Tori singing with them live 🔥
I thought I loved this band before, but I love them even more now after hearing this perfection. Tori's vocals are spot on as well
Love watching this dude play.
This guy's playing could make anyone want to become a drummer.
fuck yeah ! came home this evening and a new video from andrew in the sub box ! What better way to relax in the evening ! And also my favorite song from the new album !
He is my favourite drummer lately
Here i am again watching this masterpiece! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Phenomenal drummer.
I'm a guitarist but I watch drummer videos all the time and it is videos like these that sometimes make me wonder if I made the right decision to learn guitar instead of drums .
🤣🤣
Thank god this was one talented musician that cancer didn’t take from us.
I thought it was a drum machine at first based on the last album's production but the new one sounds a lot more natural and you can really get a better sense of his style. He's one of the tops in the genre for the sure.
tbh there are no bad or mediocre drummers in this genre
Amazing.
machine. seen him 2 times and just blew me away...
One of the best!
Just fucking amazing. Favorite band of all time.
Inspirational as fuck, the tightness and even choice of beats with single pedal work sounds so good! The sections with the right hand alternating on the ride and China sounds DOPE.
awesome ... wow
Hell yeah.
great work, very active
This is great! Much respect, from one drummer to the next!
completely not my kind of metal, but I got to tell, his skills are insane
Great band and drummer! Sick vid \m/
Daaamn, this was amazing!

Sickest dude I’ve seen in a while!!
This heel-toe crazy
welcome back bro!
clean as fuck doubles on the kicks
he can give John Longstreth a run for his money
absolutely NOT... there are worlds in between
666Z666 Spoken like a true fanboy..
BurnThePope at least i have common sense that i can see the big difference in technique and speed...
He's solid as fuck
first of all, unless there's some kind of camera anomaly, something weird is definitely going on with the kick drum....second, dude is good, don't compare apples and oranges though. if you just mean pure foot skill, then sure....and in that respect, dude is good but longstreth is phenomenal.
So Good !
Salute !
Those crazy doubles on the feet
flawless
The cymballs killer!!! kickass drummer
Incredibile
tori is gorgeous jesus
Can't believe I had to miss these guys because of venue age requirement.
It gives me goosebumps \m/x\m/
Andrew Bird on sickdrumm... oh, wait a second...
I love seeing people use heel toe. Its the only technique I can do for speed
Because I'm a failure
Question What You Fear Ignore that guy. He's an ignorant tool who clearly understands very little on the subject matter. Nice handling of it. HahHa
LegendaryStix andrew is actually doing doubles. not heel toe. either way, its doesnt matter how you get the speed as long as its comfortable, safe and consistent
LegendaryStix Lol, fail.
i always thought heel toe were doubles. just the way to make the beater bounce twice?
Omg, his heel/toe technique is so amazing that I thought he's faking it somehow. You can barely see his legs moving.
dyculus I suspect triggers are making up for the lack of impact. It's pretty common. Run hot triggers way up in the mix so you barely need to tap the drum.
That said, I don't think it's cheating per se.

Not very many drummers still use double strokes for kick drums.

Triggers bruh. And excellent technique.
If only the rest of the album was as good as this track.
MisterWilly It is.
andrew playing good
4:20
What kind of way of playing the bass drums is that? 3:37
jesus Flores heel toe technique. double strokes
I think it can hear clean 'cos the sound of the other instruments.
Does he uses Triggers on the Bassdrums?
Yes
Andrew Bird should cover this.
Fucking machine! Buit I don't know how he can stand having that china over his ride so loose like that. That would drive me crazy. Every time he strikes down on it, it's coming back up. I like mine tight as hell so it doesn't move.
*ting* 2:18
Anybody knows what his china cymbals are?
I think that the one in his left is a Wuhan... But I'm not sure
There are about five different techniques he uses in this song
how.
jesus. h. christ. slaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayed it.
Has he still got his Agazarian china (could that be it on the left)?
sick shoes tho
Is he a human?!
I absolutely love this song but I just realized something... Maybe I just don't understand how drums work, but on 3:37 aren't his legs supposed to be moving A LOT faster than they are? Not dissing or anything, just asking. Thanks!
He's creating double strokes using the heel toe technique. Which he is very good at btw. Difficult to perfect.
LOVit
Why does it look like the pedals aren't even hitting the bass drums? Is it just not high enough frame rate?
Sssssickk
wonder how many members fallujah has went through b4 fallujah was an idea & was dudes tryn 2form a band. band is soo phucking descent
Guy has no chill
pete sandoval vibes🤘
For some reason this song always reminds of BioShock Infinite lmao
Wow Andrew, I bet you used to get yelled at in jazz class for being too fucking busy as well. hahahah
What happened to this band? Reminds me of mtv awards type show. Too much. Death metal?....
Singer left and the replacement isn't as good and they aren't as interesting musically anymore
@@mrderp2472 started a new band. Muldrotha, sounds more like their earlier stuff tho

Ooooof Course he's doing Special Ed kid Double Stroke double bass technique.
Very busy! Great stuff even though the dude singer is a little annoying.

ZeeKat you step on the pedal then push the tip of your foot down to bring your heel up and get a really fast double stroke. foot only does one motion.
thanks. It looks really weird to untrained eye. Regardless of technique, great band, I'm really glad they tour far from home so I managed to see them twice.
game without thought 👎🏻
Don't like his style. Too many patterns in little period of time. Chaos. But Respect!
yeah it's like, slow down on the coke dude.
What most plebs hear..
I love this band but Andrew needs to groove a bit more.. Too much flash it feels like nothing is memorable
Joey jordison is the best !
He's using fake kicks
No. Lol it’s just double strokes. Nothing fake about it.
While he is still a great drummer, I lost a lot of respect for him when I saw the triple pedal. It is possible to play that speed with just double kick drums.
*squints* where's the third one? I see only two.
Viperacrx600 Um, check your eyes.... He is clearly using to single kicks.
You've never been more wrong.

Heel toe technique is such cheating, just like auto tune
