Mega Man X6: Blizzard Wolfangs Stage- No Damage, Buster Only

- Blizzard Wolfang's stage, the North Pole, from Mega Man X6 for the Sony Playstation PSX. No damage taken, buster only. Here we have a rather slow and most definitely patient stage for multiple reasons. First off, X will encounter several instances where he must wait for falling or rolling boulders, most notably at 1:36. The boulders here will roll down the slope four at a time. However, there is insufficient time to progress to the next ladder between these groups of four, until the fourth boulder in the group breaks against the ceiling before reaching the bottom. This is your cue to air-dash and move on. This stage also features a few areas where X must once again wait for randomly falling blocks of ice to stack in such a manner that you may progress. Blizzard Wolfgang requires little strategy, in fact his fighting style is quite similar to Slash Beast at times. In addition to moving quickly around the room via wall-jumping, he will often sit and spam snow boulders that will land at X's precise location. Stay relatively near him, as this will cause the boulders to arc and therefore allow you more time to out-maneuver them. Also note that the walls in the boss room can be wall-jumped, despite the ice. Magma Blade is Wolfang's weakness.
I've decided to run MMX6 with the Ultimate Armor solely for it's hover ability, which i've grown to use quite effectively throughout X4 and X5. I will not however be utilizing the Nova Strike. Note the Ultimate Armor is technically the same as the X4 Force Armor, it only differs in name and appearance.

+Sliider Jesus... I can't count how many times I died to the avalanches over the death pits. Or just the avalanches in general.
And it seems its pretty boring at the part were your waiting for the snow balls going 1 or 2 at a time to stop falling
I take it back. This is one of the better stages of X6.
Let us talk about how sweet the intro to this stage is?
Robbie Olivo yeah
Real 🙏🏽
One of the difficult things of this stage is that the player can't stick to the walls because of the ice
Ice is slippery so that’s why you can’t wall jump in walls. Plus that would make the Falling Ice Blocks challenge so easy.
Megaman X 6 bring back memories I missed those days
Nicely done. I remember the boulders making this stage feel slow.
its definitely the slowest x stage ive ever played...a ton of waiting. but good music at least!
Boy those avalanches are annoying! You think they last long enough? Sheesh!
Daniel Hughes yeah
1:35 - 2:08 LEVEL DESIGN!!!!!
lol, at least theres a banging tune to enjoy while you wait.
This is a very ''hurry up and wait" kind of stage, isn't it? That avalanche at 1:35 takes forever.
I never beat the game partly because of Blizzard and Blaze’s stages. The part that got me stuck is Gate Stage 1
yeah, cant blame ya there. both Gate stages are insanely difficult, especially considering they require certain powerup and weapon combos to progress. Blaze's stage is another show-stopper for many. a clusterfck of monotonous mini-bosses... yay.
Maybe Im not that good at Megaman x6 in general but I always got hit by the large ice boulders.
I remember I used to have much trouble on the falling ice parts with the random blocks falling. Ah I had no idea you could wall jump the walls in the boss room cool next time I will take advantage of that.
looking back at this now i realized something a bit strange...you can wall jump in the boss room against wolfang, but i couldnt when i faced Dynamo here. (ruclips.net/video/uhkoJt7o9hE/видео.html) i remember because i had to hover when he did his aoe attack, instead of wall climbing to avoid it. wtf?
Lol I also discover that, I am like "Wtf?" I don't remember being unable to walljump against wolfang...
It's a real shame they have removed the hover and the plasma beam from anything except Ultimate Armor in X6. When someone picks Ultimate Armor normally means that they're going to play all R2 R2 R2 mode, but your playstyle is really different from that, and really awesome for that matter. I never could use the hover function well, even though I always liked it.
well thanks. glad you like the playstyle. and your exactly right about the ultimate armor, i am however thankful that the hover is at least available in x6. for a while there i was under the impression id have to play without it.
The Plasma Shot sort of still exists in the Blade Armor, but it's not as good as the Fourth Armor or Ultimate Armor.
3:27 TOO HARD TO HELP THE REPLOID
Would be hell of a challenge if there is silhouette spawning at the beginning of the stage
2:24, I shit you not, in my most recent run-thru, the Ice blocks stacked up 2-high on BOTH sides of me so I couldn't jump on top of them, and I got crushed by blocks falling in the middle.
The blocks here I think are RNG-based.
Theme in the best.
1:35 rather defective obstacle. I just rushed through them ice balls
This and Blaze Heatnix's stage are the worst.
worst? you mean the most difficult? or irritating?
Sliider36 Good question.
Can't really say since here, you have to deal with the slippery floors, the boulders, and the ice blocks.
Blaze Heatnix's stage is really annoying because of those stupid fucking 4-sided donuts and those flame throwers in the beginning of the stage, which drains half your health.
Though in your case since you're doing perfect buster only runs, Blaze Heatnix's stage is the worst, but if it's just in a normal playthrough, I'd say Blizzard Wolfang's stage is worse.
yeah lol...irritating. im finding that a good word to describe nearly all the X6 stages, so far. and it doesnt sound to get much better. and doesn't heatnix stage have several mini-bosses? are those the donuts your referring to?
Sliider36 Yeah, those red donut mini bosses.
Mateoski Productions
NO no no !!!
RECYCLE LAB IS WORST AND MOST ANNOYING
Good job
Unpopular Opinion: This stage is good. Everything in this stage is fair.
State your case, my guy
@@ronaldmichaels3280
1. The Diagonally falling Avalanche. They have a tell.
2. Vertically Falling Avalanche. They have long cool down.
3. Falling Ice Rocks. Okay! This part of the stage sucks.
4. Falling Ice Blocks they are actually creative challenge.
5. Same case with the Ice Blocks with pattern.
@@mohdadeeb1829 I assume you're talking about the stage with no nightmare effects, which is fair enough. Though one of those falling ice block sections has some spikes on the floor that players could potentially land on upon entering that section, and seems to happen a lot, which I think is bad design
@@ronaldmichaels3280
Of course
Good ≠ Fun
North polo island
Anyone could explain how to evade Blizzard's ice spikes while he's chasing me unarmored and without parts & no magma blade? I could only defeat Blizzard with no damage before he does that 45 mph move
the hardest part is to not get hit by the falling snow
What's your overall opinion on this stage? I still like this stage!
It's one of the 2 stages in this game thats difficult without it being due to being inundated with swarms of poorly placed enemies. Just a genuine challenge.
Alexandro Torres Vega
Any idea why the spikes on ceiling at 0:58 have space ABOVE them?... sorta seems like a secret or something
Cooool
Why you don't use the Nova strike?
Web Spider cause he got skills?
Alaska North pole
sliider i see you like ultimate armor lolol
solely for its hover ability.
Besides the nova strike, its basically 4th armor :3
this is so hard stage
1:54 time filies...
Luckily you didn't defeat Blaze Heatnix before this.
oh is that the stage that causes fireballs to fall from the sky here and open new pathways? if you defeat heatnix, that is.
Sliider36 I knew about the fireballs thing but not about the pathways. Still how does it make sense that getting Wolfang's weakness, Heatnix's weapon, makes Wolfang's stage harder whilst a "super-effective" weapon is supposed to make it easier?
El solo Buster ya es trampa
Maybe only me that hate turtle boss stage, and how to get the shadow part there
the blaze heatnix one isn't so irritating cause the good music to make me pump up so much
i cant believe you made it like that, i mean this stupid stage cost me more lives than it should, besides this is one of the worst megaman X there are, you know...X7, ugh.
just curious, which section gave you the most trouble here?
Sliider definitely the falling blocks that kill you when they freeze you, yeah...pretty much, and the first one because the zero nightmare kept attaking me during the avalanches.
